So I realized that I never shared any pics of our weekend getaway in Moab. It really is a great place for a healthy vacation. Everyone out there is fit- it's a biker, hiker playgroud. If you ever get the chance to check it out- I would recommend going in the early fall. Summer is HOT there!
This is called 'Balanced Rock'. It literally looks like it's about to fall over.
This was taken from the top of a 'cliff'. Great overview of the valley.
I thought this one just looked like a post card :)
My page background is of Delicate Arch. The 'famous' arch that everyone hikes to in Moab. Kindof sad that weather is just kindof chipping away at it. It likely won't be around for much longer. Anyway- we all had a really great time. So we are thinking it will be a yearly adventure. It would be nice to bring bikes down next time.
Today was perfect calorie wise. I also managed to be right where I was supposed to be for carbs, fats and proteins. Not the easiest thing to do- perfect in all 4 categories. I usually below in one thing or another.
I completed Week 2 of the Couch to 5K. I really got a great workout today too. Pushing Xavier up some of those hills while trying to run, caused me to sweat buckets. I also woke up a bit late- so ended up running at 7:30- it was so freaking hot with the sun beating down on me. The whole time I was thinking "this is my punishment for pushing snooze!". Burned 499 calories though!
Weighed in this morning the same... 227. Considering the time of month- I am happy with staying the same this week. So that's two weeks now of weighing the same. Guess it's better then a gain and the back of my mind keeps reminding me that I weigh more during TOM anyway. So, things are good for now. I will be angry if I see that same number on the scale next week though.
Stayed within my calories today. Under in my fat again. It's crazy how some days my fat can be way over and others way under. I never seem to be right on there. Anyway- salt was still bad today. I couldn't figure out what the heck my problem was... then aunt flow came to visit... 2 days early too... grrrrr! So between the salt and aunt flow- I highly doubt that I will see any loss tomorrow morning. Guess I should try to stay positive. Gosh, I am cranky... off to bed I go!
I managed to stay within my calories again.... Blogged my progress 5 days in a row now. I actually did the opposite of yesterday and was below on my fat. Guess it will make up for yesterday. My salt has been out of control though. I really need to stop with the salt. Tomorrow is going to be a salt free day, if I stand any chance of losing anything this week. I weigh in on Wednesday. Even though I managed to stay within my calories during a vacation- I didn't stay within my salt range... which always kills me when it comes to weigh in day. I am going to have to drink lots of water to flush it all out of my system.
I just competed my second run of week two of the couch to 5k program. I was a little worried... day one this week was a bit rough for me. But day two was actually pretty easy. I hope that day 3 ends up even easier. I am very happy about the podcast that a spark buddy led me too. It actually makes me excited to run. I only allow myself to listen to it during the program and I find myself looking forward to move onto the next weeks. It can be found on runningintoshape.com for those who are interested. It's actually music that I would listen to, so I am loving it.
I am thinking that I need to get a book to download on my Ipod to listen to on my commute on the way to and from work. I really want music to be my treat for when I workout. Not only that, I have a 45 min. drive to and 45 min. from work (if there is no traffic). So I think the time could be used by listening to a nice book while I drive. I think the library lets you 'rent' podcasts. I will have to check into that.
Anyway... I am rambling... Hope everyone had a great Monday!
Well, we were supposed to leave home tonight... but got such a late start on the day. Had we left we wouldn't be home until 2AM. At least an hour would have been driving in the pitch black desert/mountain roads... not ideal. Not only that Xavier had enough of the car. So we booked another night here in Moab. It has been a good trip. We have seen a lot and walked a lot. It is very very very HOT! We did eat at a restaurant tonight. I had fries- which killed my stomach- but my veggie burger was really good and I did stay within my calories. I just wish I had remembered my HRM- so that I'd know how many calories I burned today. Ah, well... glad the hotel has free internet!
