Over 34 weeks into my pregnancy! Can't believe the day for my very first baby to arrive is almost here. Are we ready? No, not really. I think emotionally we are. Mentally and physically? Well, considering we don't even have a car seat for her yet... My body has definitely gone through some major changes. We'll see if I ever get to wear that bikini I bought the week I found out I was pregnant, lol! Not because I won't lose the weight, but because now I have stretch marks all over the place. Hopefully they won't be too obvious, but we shall see. It's going to be super hard to break the habit of eating so much, but at least I'll be breastfeeding and that will burn tons of calories. I'm going to have to watch myself when I'm done breastfeeding! But by then I might be pregnant again, lol.

When I saw your updated picture on my page - I realized I had missed a "small" part of your life. Congratulations!! There is nothing to really prepare you for motherhood. My " baby" is almost 19 & I am still learning new things that nobody told me about emoticon

I was told by a lactation consultant that you burn 500 calories a day nursing a baby. That was good news to me since I was nursing twins! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

Big news

Tuesday, August 05, 2008

Well, I haven't been doing much on SparkPeople lately. I've been feeling exhausted, too tired to do much physical activity. Guess why? I'm pregnant! Woo hoo! We had been trying for over a year. After getting my thyroid hormones under control, I got my fertility back. We'll be expecting our first child on March 1. Can't wait! I must say, though, I didn't think being pregnant would be so tiring!

Congratulations on the baby, hope all is going well. And THANK YOU for serving our country. My dear niece was killed in Iraq and buried on her 20th birthday 3 years ago. I am thankful you are home safe.

Yep, expect to be tired. I used to come home, take a nap, do some stuff, go to bed :) But it's a good tired. It goes away before too long.

Awesome news.

Wow, I didn't realize it had been three weeks since I last posted. Well, I finished the Swimsuit Bootcamp workout, though we were out of town for the last week and I kinda fell off the wagon there. I haven't posted a new pic yet because I wanted to get my new swimsuit first! I'll be going shopping on Monday morning :)

Anybody have any ideas on what color would look good with my complexion? I'm very fair (though I have a little more color now due to both sun and sunless tanner) with dark hair and green eyes.

I've also been getting workout videos from Netflix. I just finished a ballet conditioning workout for the second time, and I was able to do everything except the last bit of ab work this time. My legs were totally shaking. These are things I was able to easily do when I was a dancer about 11 years ago. Can't believe it's been that long! But it's a great workout - maybe I'll have to look up some adult ballet classes around here and see what I can find.

Softball is done for the season, which is fine with me. I've been totally stinking these last couple of games and my confidence with softball isn't all that high anymore. :( It might have helped if we had practiced a little more. Oh well. Maybe next time. Russ pulled a muscle in his back during warmups so it's probably a good thing softball is done for now. He figures it happened because his back muscles aren't very strong.

I also learned to water ski last weekend! I didn't stay up very long but at least I got up! Go me! I'll have to see if Brooke will send me some pics. :)

That's all for now. I'll try to remember to post more often :)

So the "vacation" definitely got me side-tracked. I haven't done a Swimsuit Bootcamp workout in a week! Holy cow! I sure have some catching up to do. :) I did run 5 miles yesterday and did a little lifting, and I'm definitely feeling it. Just gotta get back on track! I think I'll continue the Bootcamp into June. I WILL look hot in a bikini in time for Ruthie's wedding :)

Glad to see you made it back from vacation safely. Don't worry about getting side-tracked. You will be back on the right track in no time. Let me know when you and your DH want to get together sometime. It will be fun.

Road trip

Wednesday, May 21, 2008

Russ and I are heading to Florida tomorrow to go to his friend Joe's wedding. Road trip. 14 hours in the car each way. Sitting still. Snacking constantly - to stay awake, because of boredom, and because you never feel quite full unless you just gorged on burgers and fries. Sneaking sips of his huge 64 oz diabetes-in-a-cup (aka soda). Not drinking water to avoid bathroom stops. Huge fast food meals. What do I do?

I need tips to not feel hungry and to get in a little exercise in the car.

Any suggestions are welcome, but stopping frequently is not an option.

Good luck on your looong trip! Gosh 14 hours! Okay drinking water won't do because of the stopping, what about singing songs or reading out loud? or keep a watch out for wild birds, record the details and look them up later!
Save trip, hugs, Hannah
