SIA Challenge week 3

Sunday, March 03, 2013

Here is my collage. Included some yoga poses that I really want to be able to do at the end of the year or even this challenge. Some of my favorite quotes that inspire me and I had to include Lululemon clothes since they motivate me to reach my goals and splurge on their clothes. Also Tracy Anderson dvds. I want to be able to complete meta during the challenge!

Spring Into Action Bonus Challenge

Thursday, February 21, 2013

So I went to the linear software website. Put my numbers in and yuck!!!! I knew it was going to be bad but still I never considered myself obese.

Numbers are:
Body Fat: 40.75!!! emoticon
Body fat pounds: 61.53 emoticon
Lean body weight: 89.90

What an eye opener!!! I guess since I usually workout I didn't think my numbers would be so high. I fit into a size 8 but I guess because of my height, I need to be lower!

I'm so proud of you for sharing all your numbers with us! I just got back and haven't done mine yet. I'm not looking forward to it, since I ate way off plan and came home bloated and 6 pounds heavier. emoticon
Thank goodness we'll be doing this together.

Springing To Action Week 1: Introduction

Sunday, February 17, 2013

I'm not really good at introductions, but here goes. My name is Denise! I am a 32 year old mom of two boys named Matthew and Mark. I have been happily married for less than a year although we've been together for 14 years! LOL! Never felt pressured to make it official until last year! LOL! I work at a preschool with 4-5 years olds. I love my job!!! There is never a dull moment. The kids keep me on my toes all day and then of course I go home and my boys keep me on my toes. I've been a part of SP since 2008, but I always seem to come and go, but I really want to take 2013 to the next level. I have never started a year this good. I want to keep it that way. I lost 40 pounds a couple of years ago, but gained back 20 which I am not happy about. Lots of stress at the end of last year. My little boy Mark was diagnosed with Autism. I knew it was coming, but it was still a blow. I had to be on top of things so he could get the services and therapies that he needed. I had no time to workout and a lot of time to binge. Food was comfort during this time. I'm slowly starting to undo all the bad habits that I have. I want to give up soda, junk etc, but sometimes it is so hard specially after a stressful day. I'm also hoping that with Sp and specially with the Bahama Mama's team i can slowly reach my goals! So excited to be in the team!!

I don't blog on Sp to much, I've been keeping a blog here for a long time so it's kinda hard for me to blog in both places: jto115.blogspot.com/
but I'll try my best for the challenges.

Oh and I'm a huge fan of Barre, Tracy Anderson and fusion type workouts. So if anyone wants to chit chat about that feel free to add me as a friend!

Denise thanks for sharing so much about yourself. emoticon I can only imagine how difficult it's been to balance all that you have to do as a mom, working mom, and wife, with what you need to do for yourself. But you are clearly a strong and amazing woman and I know that you WILL get this DONE. I'm so happy to be a part of this challenge with you, as well as your At the Barre team.

We have few things in common!! I work in a preschool as well (6 years now) but the last 2 1/2 years have been with infants. I love this age!! Pre-K is fantastic though. They are total sponges and actually have fun learning and WANT to learn. I am sure you have fun with them!! My brother is autistic and I know how difficult that can be, juggling work and both kids and all the services. I give so much credit and praise to moms who do it all because I know from watching my own mom how hard, and draining, it can be. I look forward to getting to know you through the challenge and work towards our goals together!!

I'm new to the challenge too. I gave up soda (Coca-Cola, to be exact, which I think is the elixir of life) cold turkey on Jan. 1, and Diet Snapple has been my savior! Between 5-10 calories per bottle and lots of different flavors. Just an idea. :)

So very nice to get to know you better!! My nephew has autism, and my parents (who raise him) struggle with it. I'm learning that having a good support circle of doctors and therapists is the best help you can have, aside from a supportive group of family and friends that is.

Have a fantastic day!!

Hey Denise! It was great to read more about your story! You are so clearly an amazing woman :) I totally relate to turning to food for comfort (when tired, sad, overwhelmed). Im excited to learn good habits with you, and be even more awesome than we already are ;) Lots of pretzels, lol ;)

Hi Denise. I am so happy you joined the Bahama Mamas. You are a great Bahama Mama.

I have started Tracy Anderson's Absentric Metamorphosis program abut 3 thousand times. The last time I worked out with her Ab program was right around Nov. 2012. I have a bad right knee and, while doing her program I hurt my knee really bad and I have been afraid of her ever since. I love her though. I too love barre. That is what I started out on Spark with, after I got the Fluidity Barre I went crazy with all things barre.
i hurt my knee and now that it is better I still haven't found the motivation I had before. When I was doing P57, I saw great results FAST.
I am working on getting my self motivated to the level of where I was before I hurt my knee. I am counting on the Springing To Action Challenge to Spring me back to the barre. lol

I look forward to talking barre with you alot.
Take care and have a great Monday.
