Wow! What a trip that turned out to be. I definitely learned things I did NOT expect to learn about myself and my eating habits. I would do it again in a heartbeat, and am planning on a Spring reset next year (when I hope to be getting ready for bikini weather!)
Phase 1: RECLAIM. I had a lot of fun learning new recipes and getting used to drinking more water. I definitely felt the benefits of eating breakfast in the morning and had surprisingly few withdrawals from coffee.
Phase 2: RELEASE. Learned even more new recipes (Favorites were Creamy Garlic Salad Dressing and Zucchini-Cashew soup. I didn't eat zucchini before!) and learned to live with very few animal products. I also learned that clean food gives me much better and longer lasting energy. I used that energy to keep me busy cleaning out my life! Major emotional reset in Phase 2. I released a LOT!
Phase 3: RESTORE. This one was tough. I missed my yogurt, and eating fruit for breakfast was rough. I still love salads, so no issues there, but meals seemed very hollow with just veggies. No grains, no legumes. I was also busy with lots of food-centric personal activities, which made it hard to deal. But I made it!
Overall, I feel amazing. I lost 12 pounds and 6" and learned a LOT about myself. My reasons for eating, when I eat "emotionally", the things I crave (cheese!) My body isn't back to "normal" yet, I made celebratory pizzas with the kids and that was NOT a good idea. So I'm back to a clean, whole grains and veggies and fish diet. I think this will be my new normal. Today was grilled fish and steamed broccoli with brown rice for lunch and veggie stir fry with quinoa for dinner. My tummy is happy.
Tonight I start a new program to focus on my flexibility and Monday, I'm back in the gym! (And Friday I'm climbing Mt. Fuji!) Big fitness week. Thanks for following my Reset journey, it was WAY better than I expected. If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me, I love talking about this program that changed my life!
