Weight In and Measurements - Week 27 ( I am back!!)

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

I am back!! I have been away from SP and my routine for about 9 weeks. Although I kept eating healthy and working out, I was not very consistent and I did not track anything at all. In all honesty there is no good reason for it, I let myself go, I changed my priorities and I forgot that I have to look out for me and my well being before anyone else. It all started by small changes (not stretching in the morning, drinking less water, skipping a work out to accommodate someone else schedule) and before I knew it, I was lost. Luckily I have realized the error of my ways and I am back on track and doing my routine. I am determined to reach my goals and I know SP will help me do that.

For my daily routine I plan on waking every morning and doing a stretching session, which includes some abs work (crunches), push-ups, and butt exercises. I will also be taking my daily multi-vitamin and drinking and tracking a minimum of 8 glasses of water. I will also be tracking my food and will try to stay within my calorie range.

As for my workout plan it still needs some tweaking (I want to add yoga to it) but here are the basics:

S- Swimming
M - Total Conditioning & Core
T - Swimming
W - Barbell Strength & Core
R - Spinning
F - Total Conditioning & Core

I have also started to take Salsa Classes which I do not count as a workout but it is a great and fun activity.

Since I have been of the wagon and SP I took full measurements today, I wanted to see where I stood:

February 17, 2010

Weight: 118 lbs and 0 oz
Waist: 32.0 in
Hips: 36.0 in

April 20, 2010

Weight: 119 lbs and 6 oz - Gain 1 lb 6 oz
Waist: 32.0 in - No Gain / No Loss
Hips: 36.5 in - Gain 0.5 in

Other measurement which will be taken monthly:

February 1, 2010

Arm: 10.0 inches
Calf: 12.5 inches
Thigh: 21.0 inches

April 20, 2010

Arm: 10.5 inches 0.5 inch Gain
Calf: 12.5 inches No Loss / No Gain
Thigh: 21.0 inches No Loss / No Gain

I am pretty close to where I was in mid February which is good, I did not reach my goal of 115lbs by April 1 but it is okay I know I will reach my goal and I will feel great doing it!!

Weight In and Measurements - Week 18

Thursday, February 18, 2010

This has been a fabulous week! I was not able to take measurements or weight in on Monday night (02/15/2010) so I did it on Wednesday morning (02/17/2010) after Barbell.

The last week of my cousin being in town was a wonderful experience, we got to know each other and develop a friendship I never thought possible we would have. She helped me through a lot and it was great having a workout buddy.

This morning I went running with a friend who pushed me to the limit, we went around the Memorial Park loop and finished it in 25:59 min!!! I couldn't believe it, my best time before that had been 31 min - Yes my heart felt like it was going to pop-out of my chest and my lungs were craving some much needed oxygen, but I did it and it felt great!! I plan on pushing myself harder and harder now, testing my limits, becoming a better athlete.

For this week's numbers:

February 8, 2010

Weight: 118 lbs and 14 oz
Waist: 32.0 in
Hips: 36.5 in

February 17, 2010

Weight: 118 lbs and 0 oz - Loss 14 oz
Waist: 32.0 in - No Gain / No Loss
Hips: 36.0 in - Loss 0.5 in

I am super close to my original goal of 115 lbs, once I get there I will reassess myself and set up new goals.

Is not a question of IF I can - I KNOW I CAN - The only thing standing between me and my goals is ME!

Weight In and Measurements - Week 17

Monday, February 08, 2010

This has been a wonderful week, I have been able to eat healthy and really spend some time in the kitchen expressing myself - I have to admit I am loving it!

I wasn't able to workout Thursday - Saturday, I went to the dentist on Wed morning and something went terribly wrong, my cheek swelled up, I looked like a chipmunk and it was super bruised. Throughout the past few days the swelling has gone down and it has gone from blue, to purple, to black, and is now green. As of today Monday it is still swollen a bit and it looks like someone gave me a massive left hook - LOL - not cool. If it continues to be swollen I am going to have to go back and make sure everything is ok.

Sunday I went to two basic salsa lessons and signed up for 4 class course. After salsa I went jogging around Memorial Park and completed the loop in 31:17!! I am planning on making this my Sunday routine =)

For this week's numbers:

February 1, 2010

Weight: 120 lbs and 0 oz
Waist: 32.5 in
Hips: 36.5 in

February 8, 2010

Weight: 118 lbs and 14 oz Loss 1 lb and 2 oz
Waist: 32.0 in - Loss 0.50 in
Hips: 36.5 in No Loss / No Gain

I am very happy with this and I am planning to keep up the healthy eating and the gym - I am getting closer and closer to my goal!

This past week I did not complete week 1 of Diet Stage 2 properly, but I plan on making up for it this week.

Weight In and Measurements - Week 17

Monday, February 01, 2010

This has been a much better week than the last one. I have been able to track my food a little better and the stress at home is very small now. I took two days to myself where I just was not home and used them to calm down and find my balance - and it worked.

Saturday I ran the Texas Med 5K with my cousin. It was awesome, it was really cold (37F feels like 28F) but we did it. Our time was 30:40 min - my best race yet. The course was beautiful, easy and fast - very well organized. The after party had fantastic food (hummus, pita, orzo, bananas, oranges, coffee, hot cocoa, juices, milk, sweet pastries, even beer and beer muffins). I would have liked to stay longer but it was just too cold, we could not feel our toes, fingers or nose. That is the only running I did this week, my lower left leg has been bothering me, not sure if it is muscle or nerve pain and if it is the calf or the shin or what - I am hoping the rest and some heat will do the trick. Also this week, I did not do my Friday Total Conditioning class because I was running the 5K the next day.

After last week's disaster I am back on track:

January 25, 2010

Weight: 121 lbs and 4 oz .
Waist: 32.75 in
Hips: 36.75 in

February 1, 2010

Weight: 120 lbs and 0 oz Loss 1 lb and 4 oz
Waist: 32.5 in - Loss 0.25 in
Hips: 36.5 in Loss 0.25 in

Also this week is the first Monday of the month and therefore additional measurements are collected:

January 4, 2010

Arm: 10.0 inches
Calf: 12.5 inches
Thigh: 21 inches

February 1, 2010

Arm: 10.0 inches No Loss / No Gain
Calf: 12.5 inches No Loss / No Gain
Thigh: 21.0 inches No Loss / No Gain

I have also re-started my SP Diet Stage 2, and I plan on actually doing it this time around - I never went to Stage 3 because I knew I had not completed Stage 2 properly - Luckily I can have a second chance.

Weight In and Measurements - Week 16

Monday, January 25, 2010

This has not been a good week for me or for food, I have been very stressed (family issues) and it reflects on my mood, performance and food choices. I have been having a situation at home where the healthy food I purchase for myself is being used by others at a crazy rate, so I have been feeling like I am competing with people for my healthy food, I kept feeling that if I didn't have it NOW I wasn't going to have it because later it would be GONE (Happened a couple of times already) and that is not a good or healthy mentality to have in regards to food. There is nothing I can do about the situation at home so I just need to work on not feeling that way or even if I do, not eating the food just because I want to make sure I can taste it before it disappears. Also this week, I went out to eat a lot: Melting Pot for Girls Night Out, 2 Sushi Meals (Work Lunch and Theater Night), Baby Shower, Grilling with Apple Raspberry Pie, Colombian Food for Lunch with the family and drinks Saturday night with the boys - WOW is no wonder I am not happy with the scale today.

This week 10K training was not the best either. The first session was 4 miles and it went well. The second session was supposed to be 3 miles and I got confused and ended up doing two 2 mile jogs with a break in between. The third session was supposed to be a 4 mile jog, I went to the treadmill at the gym started to run and had to stop, my lower legs started to cramp and it was painful, after 1.5 miles I had to stop - I am not sure if it was dehydration, or low potassium, or the new shoes but I hope to be back on track this new week.

Today's Measurements:

January 18, 2010

Weight: 118 lbs and 14 oz
Waist: 32.25 in
Hips: 36.50 in

January 25, 2010

Weight: 121 lbs and 4 oz Gain 2 lb and 6 oz - That is crazy and I am really not happy with this.
Waist: 32.75 in - Gain 0.5 in
Hips: 36.75 in Gain 0.25 in

Not a good week overall but is the opportunity to realize what I am doing wrong and what I need to change to keep with my healthy lifestyle and reach my goals.

Hey girlie don't give up or get yourself down... believe me!

You've come this far and you can keep going for sure!! Family issues suck, especially when dealing with healthy (and sometimes expensive!) food. It will all work itself out one way or another though, and you won't go hungry during it either!

Remember, as women our bodies can change overnight for no reason, so don't beat yourself up too much about your weight and waist.... I know for me when it's getting to be close to that time, I completely puff up and can literally put on 2 or 3 pounds overnight... especially after going out for a night with the guys / living the general college lifestyle.

Don't push yourself too hard at the gym trying to get rid of it, it will only stress you out more. The weight will work itself back off in time because you have made tremendous lifestyle changes that are going fantastically for you!!!!!!

Keep it up -- I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
