Merry Movers Personal Challenge

Monday, December 17, 2012

I am doing a winter challenge and as a personal challenge we need to write about our goals for the 10 week challenge.

My goals for the next 10 weeks:

1. Track my food every day and keep up with a healthier diet.
2. Workout at least 4 days a week for about an hour each day. Also, I want to stick to a workout routine for the 10 weeks.
3. Since I have been losing inches and not weight specifically, I am aiming to lose 4-6 inches and/or 6-8 lbs in 10 weeks.

I share in your workout routine goal. I just can't seem to find something that works for me on a consistent basis.

Very reasonable goals. Sticking t a workout routine for 10 weeks should help to develop the "habit". Exercise CAN be fun..... can't it??!! :-)

Thanks. I have the biggest loser challenge for wii. So I do that 4 days a week and the routine is different every day. I also do some of the sparkpeople videos. Thanks for the support!

What is your usual workout routine? I'm finding that different things come up on different days so not every week is the same and I'm not working out as much as I'd like...but it just matters that you get up and work out when you can! I hope this challenge helps you to reach your goals! :)

Moving Sucks

Saturday, November 10, 2012

Ok so the title is a bit misleading. I'm not actually mmoving, but I am cleaning out the garage. Which reminds me of moving and all of the reasons that it sucks. Without fail I end up in pain because I am using muscles that I forgot I even had. Then there is the sorting, leaning, bending, lifting, turning, and who knows what else. It is tiring work. But there is one positive to moving/cleaning. I got a mini-workout in the process of being organized. Yay! There is a bright side:)

I cleaned our basement today. You're right. It's tiring but the results are worth it.

Resistance is Sweet

Friday, November 09, 2012

I was able to resist today! Once a month I get together with a group of friends and we have a mini-game night. There are usually snacks at every table and I find myself snacking throughout the night...and ruining my calorie intake. But tonight I was able to resist. Just thinking about having to add each time I snacked to my nutrition tracker helped me to resist. True I gave in and had a small piece of dessert, but little steps. I have resisted dessert and snacking all week and that is better than I have done in the past. Little steps will get me through :)

Nice work! I too use the tracker to dissuade myself from snacking.

Day 5

Thursday, November 08, 2012

Today was a little bit tougher for me. It took me a little bit longer to summon up the energy to start my workout. I struggled a bit to get up and work out rather than just to get up and go about my day. But I did kept my streak going emoticon

I think that this time I truly have the determination to lose weight and start living a healthy lifestyle. It seems strange to say but I am excited to workout. Part of it has to do with what I am doing. I have started to walk my dogs every day of the week rather than just a few times. I enjoy being outdoors more than locked inside, so that is always nice. It is also really good for my dogs. They need to get more exercise as well and they are never happier than when they are out and about. emoticon

My dog would LOVE getting out to walk every day. Unfortunately I hate the cold more than anything and it has already set in. Keep it up though! emoticon

A new beginning

Wednesday, November 07, 2012

So I am not good with keeping up a journal or a blog, but I figure that I should give it a shot. Maybe this will help me to keep motivated and held accountable.

Losing weight has kind of been an up and down battle for me. I will go in spurts with working out and eating right. The past few months have been a bit hard for me and spurred me on to determine that there will be no more excuses. I need to change the way I live my life. I just want to be healthy, fit, and happy with who I am. So here is to changing my life and becoming the person I want to be physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Maybe it will be easier for you to keep a journal by tracking your food in the nutrition tracker and your exercise in the fitness tracker. There is also a water tracker and a fruits and veggies tracker. You can write your blog everyday too. Maybe someone will write you a motivating comment or give you a Spark goodie. You can give yourself a spark goodie too to help you stay motivated.
