Look for your mistakes (and correct them!)

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

Obviously I did something slightly wrong yesterday because I regained the 0,3 Kg that I had lost the day before. It isn't tragic, but it gives me the opportunity to learn from my mistakes. So, analyzing yesterday's eating, I realize a few things. First, I seemed really tired all day and also really hungry. I ate differently at breakfast than I would normally. Then I had a salad with 10 olives on it at lunch (too many I guess) and I ate two mini-salamis, a cheese and sugar free jello as snacks (too much). Finally, at dinner I had turkey steaks with cream cheese and asparagus (OK) but then a lot of my other cheese and some ham (not necessary).

So, today, I got a good night's sleep. I'm fresh and feeling stronger than I did yesterday. I have my aerobics class tonight (which is really good for weight loss) and I already did 35 minutes on my treadmill. I reintroduced the incline again and went very slightly slower than I have been without incline but I kept my pulse right in the good zone.

I'm going to watch my food today and see if it doesn't have a more positive report tomorrow. And anyway, it is only 300 grams gain!

Treadmill: 35 minutes, incline of 2
==================
05 minutes at 4.5 kmh
10 minutes at 5.0 kmh
20 minutes at 5.5 kmh

3,09 Km distance

i think it is due to the sodium content of the foods eaten. have you added sodium as one of the items to track on your nutrition tracker ??? it's hard to stay within 2,300 a day but it can be done. eating foods high in potassium absorbs the sodium so that can help.

Progress is a nice flavor!

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

OK, I'm sold on eating less refined carbs. I feel good and I am lighter than I have been in over a month. It isn't even really hard. Of course, yesterday was a total fitness day and today as a result, I probably won't go to the gym but I WILL work out on the treadmill for 30 minutes. This morning, my hip sort of hurt and also I was sooo tired. So I decided to put off the morning treadmill routine. But when I get home from work, I'm gonna jump right on that machine. I want to keep up the streak!

Keep it Up!

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

It's working! Well, I expected to lose something the first day. Let's see what happens tomorrow. I will stick to the plan much more consequently today (i.e. I won't eat Surimi - yestreday I ate it before knowing it was a no no). It really isn't too hard for me. The only things I have given up (for now) which I really miss is bread.

Tonight I have my fitness class again so I expect the weight loss to continue. The class is 90 minutes of aerobics with and without weights. We had Easter break and no class for three weeks so I'm glad to be getting back. I also did 30 minutes this morning on my treadmill!

Starting Again

Monday, April 12, 2010

I am completely committed to losing and burning fat through diet and LOTS of exercise. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill this morning10 minutes at 4,5 KmH, 15 minutes at 5,0 KmH and 5 minutes at 5,5 KmH. It was my first session on my new treadmill and it went very well! I was sweating up a storm! I have really been working out consistently and getting in about 4 hours per week. Yesterday, when I played tennis with DH, I could tell that my aerobic condition is vastly improved over what it was at the beginning of the year!

Today, I am starting with the low carb lifestyle again. I am not doing anything really out of the ordinary for me. I live a fairly low carb existence anyway. This morning I had an egg and a Weight Watchers chicken burger. For lunch, chicken breast with broccoli. For dinner, I will probably have a salad with chicken or tuna. This has always worked really well for me since I tend to eat most of my empty calories in carbs (Crackers, bread, cookies, sweets).

Time is a drifting concept

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.

- H. Jackson Brown

This came in one of my Spark Mails. Great thought but at the moment I am wondering if Albert Einstein had 200 eMails waiting to be answered, endless conference calls with difficult customers and software applications that are urgently necessary but can't be installed on his laptop. He didn't even have a laptop!

I am feeling really time-challenged and stressed and I hope things get better soon before I go completely loopy.

Take 'one' moment at a time... One task at a time and things will get done. It's so easy to overwhelm ourselves with the electronic ages and e-mails, technology... but it's a matter of managing our time to maximize our moments.

Wishing you all the best!
