IRENE IS NO ANGEL.

Friday, October 19, 2012

emoticon Yesterday I got angry, yes, angry. That is not right but I did it anyway.
Arriving at the Mexican bridge to meet the pastor's son 1/2 hour early I waited until 11:00, one hour, yes one hour after he was to show and no show.
I am sitting in the United States side of the bridge and try to call the pastors cell with the phone number I have. It didn't work as my phone was turned to Mexico, not the United states. Here on the border you think you are in Mexico.

After 11:00 I left. It was so hot and I had been sitting long enough. Every little bit I would stop and try to call. For a few miles in I am still on Mexico on my cell.

Then I finally got her and she said she didn't know where her son was. He was supposed to be with me. I called back and forth for hours. You see that wasn't my money, it was theirs. Every call is 95 cents a minute. I am getting madder by the minute.

I stopped and had something to eat thinking that would help me but my waiter did not give me good service so I did not give him a tip. Still emoticon

Came home, called, he had not called her and the daughter in law said he had gone to McAllen which is close to me. I had no idea what he was doing there.

Finally in the middle of the afternoon he called me. He got to the bridge at 1200 and had gone with a co worker to collect a pay check from their boss in Weslaco.
Now I understood that. He had to do it as the boss called and he didn't want to lose his wages which he uses to support his wife, daughter and himself.

We did agree to meet Saturday morning. I don't like to do anything on Saturday as that is my getting ready for Sunday day.

Well, when I got home and had thought not to give them the $ 100.00 extra I always give them personally and after not tipping the waiter I went to the mail box and found a surprise gift from someone who said I just thought I should send this. $200.00. So I will be giving them their $100.00. The pastor would come to our side of the bridge but he does not have papers and can't.

So see God always tries us, Tribulation works patience, Then shows us once again that He does meet all of our needs.

So all of you who thought I was an emoticon let it be known I am human just like all of us.

Then in the afternoon my girl friend who lives one mile from me was traveling going toward Oklahoma City when she got in a big dust storm. There were 30 accidents and several people injured. I was concerned because that is tornado country. She finally found a way to turn around and followed some cars out of it and found a motel. She called me while she was still sitting in her car so I really prayed. I called her later and she was well but I went online and found a picture of the pile ups.

Then last night we began to have storm warnings here. Hail was coming toward us and it was lightening but the storm veered off and went to other towns here.
Now I am wondering if my friends are all right.

Quite a day. But I ended up emoticon

God bless you.

Irene

But, you have such a sweet and warm spirit of caring that just shines from you even through the sparkpages.

A person does not even have to see you face to face to feel your warmth and love of others.

You are loved and valued. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I think the miracle of it all I got home and waiting for me in the box was an unexpected gift of $200.00. I think that God's way of saying I understand and I forgive.
Even the Lord got angry especially at the hypocrites and those he served but they would not receive. He even overturned the tables in the temple.
As I wrote also we will meet Saturday morning and the Lord will give me the strength.

Irene, at your age it is not good to get so angry. Well, not at any age. LOL!

Your time would have been better spent looking around at some beauty of your surroundings, or praying . Always take the lemons and make lemon aid , angry serves no purpose, it makes the body sad.

    Dear Irene,
Yes, "there are none righteous no, not one!" As much as we want to be like Christ and have even conformed to His image we still are human and do things we wish not to do and don't always do the things we should do! Thank you Lord Jesus for coming to be my Savior... my way of escape ... my way of still being able to live eternally with you and the Father, when I accept my sinfulness, ask forgiveness from the Lord and ask Him to take my penalty for that wrong fullness and to live with me for ever!!
Blessings!! Thanks for being such a sweet example for Christ to us all!!

IN MEMORY OF MONTY, UNSTOPPABLE AND OTHERS WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE US

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
Safely Home

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.

Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's Will.

There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth-
You shall rest in Jesus' land.

When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!

PERSONAL CONSEQENCES OF BEING DEHYDRATED

Saturday, October 13, 2012

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon AND READ.

First of all I would like to ask you to read some of the comments on my recent blog about water consumption, especially HAPPYMOM8 There are many more she could have listed but this is enough to wake any of us up.

NOW TO THE PERSONAL CONSEQUENCES OF BEING DEHYDRATED
one time in Mexico I dehydrated. I was in a hotel and when they saw me they took me to the hospital where they gave me an IV.
It is no fun.
Another night I was to preach in Mexico and all of a sudden every thing was going black. I had to quit, they took me to the pastor's house, put me in front of a fan as it was very hot and gave me something to drink and I came out of it.
Recently the doctor put me on a powerful diuretic and did not add anymore potassium.
I no longer could talk clearly. I could not type on the computer and all I wanted to do was sleep. My friend from our church who also has a home health service said to himself she is not right.
Something is wrong. He called the doctor's office and said he was worried about me. The doctor was shocked. My friend went with me and did the talking. He is my power of attorney.
The doctor lowered the diuretic, doubled the potassium and put me on Gatorade as my electrolytes were depleting. After a couple of days and plenty of water I was back to normal.
I thank God and the angel He sent as I thought I was either going to die or was going crazy.
Dehydration is nothing to fool with.
Please don't think I am pushing you but I do care about people and ask you to
PLEASE DRINK YOUR WATER.

WHAT MY DOCTOR SAID ABOUT WATER CONSUMPTION

Friday, October 12, 2012

emoticon
Someone mentioned I might be drinking too much water. I asked my doctor. He said I should drink plenty of water so I didn't dehydrate again.

My home health care nurse told me the same thing.

I told them I drink emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
or more a day. They said that is fine.

If you are active you are to drink more water.

I sure do not want to dehydrate again and become a zombie.

On the teams I belong to I have a topic on "did you drink your 8 glasses of water today" Very few people post and some teams don't post at all. Then I see they are battling with water intake.

A SUGGESTION: one team I belong to chooses their own streak, something they battle with like I chose desserts and finished my 100 days today. They don't tempt me any more. Maybe you who battle with water can do a streak on water consumption.

What a great subject. I have drunk at least 8 glasses of water per day for years (ever since I joined WW when my 25 yo ds was a baby). However, last year at a WW meeting (at least as my memory serves me), I was told that we could count coffee & other beverages in the total. So I started counting them in the 8. I usually only have 2 cups of coffee a day and 1 glass of iced tea. But I have noticed a feeling of dehydration. I'm going to go back to my previous way of counting the glasses.

I'm sure you're not drinking 'too much water'. You seem very self-aware with your health. I agree with Blue42 down - most people I've come across in reaching my goal that feel the need to correct my exercise routine or the food choices I make (the know it all types) are, in my humble opinion, not doing the basics to see that their own health is good. Keep going on the way you're going on emoticon You know your body better than anyone else.

    emoticon on your water consumption.

The point at which "too much water" becomes a major concern isn't normally with the number of glasses we drink throughout a normal day - it's with drinking a lot all at once. (We can safely drink 12-16 glasses a day when they're spread out, especially if we're active and passing water out as well.)

I do find it highly amusing when the person saying this about water has no qualms about drinking soda or coffee in absurd volumes.

OUR EXAMPLE PAVES THE WAY

90 Days without desserts for me. Yes, I eat fruit which is one question all ask.
My days were posted to Face book each day and one day when I had almost finished the month my pastor told the men's study group "if she can do it I can."

So my pastor started a streak of no desserts. He has passed two months now.
He told me he did not realize how much dessert he ate.

Then he starts preaching on nutrition to the congregation and comparing it to spiritual food. He said one little cookie has so many calories and fat. I didn't realize that.

He lost weight and his clothes started bagging and he was walking on his pants as they were getting longer as they got looser. I told him he needed to find a good tailor and sure enough he did and he looks so neat.

You also ask me if I lost weight. I am at my goal weight and am not doing it to lose weight but because I was so addicted to sweets I could not stop once I started and I knew if I kept on I would gain my weight back and it would be detrimental to my health.

Then he started speaking of junk food. I don't know if anyone is following the streak or not except one friend, member of the church, popped up on Face book and said "Day 1 without desserts"

So remember we are examples to so many people.

What is your weakness? Make a streak out of it. emoticon

You are doing so well, Irene, and inspiring others to think about the things they eat. I agree, fruit is not a dessert..its is a REAL food and I sure do love fruit! I bought a watermelon, some bananas and a couple of nectarines yesterday. That will last all week for me and my son!

Have a healthy day!

You've challenged yourself well. Congratulations! It's rewarding to know about the wonderful impact this has on others.

For me, I try not to deny myself any one category of food as that creates problems of its own . . . I have worked in a little frozen yogurt or low-fat ice cream within my calorie range for many years. John had me check with my doctor to see if there might be a recommendation not to eat grapefruit (I'm on a minimum dose of a beta blocker) -- I know had I been told to eliminate grapefruit, I would have craved grapefruit, when in fact, I typically only eat grapefruit in very small spurts perhaps part of only one month a year.

You are doing great, Irene, and obviously setting a good example for many. I do enjoy something sweet each day, but my one big give up was soda pop. It has been almost two years since I gave it up. There are times I think it would be nice to just have one glass of diet Doctor Pepper, but so far I have not succumbed. emoticon emoticon

Awesome Irene, and you are so right...the things we do and say in life, and even the way we response to how other people treat us, even when it is not kind, has an impact, and we nenver know what a difference the little things can make!
Thanks for your inspiration! emoticon

Day 1 without desserts! You are my inspiration in this Irene! I look for something "good" and know very well that most, if not all, desserts are not good for us!
I'd say only 'healthy' desserts which would include fruit and yogurt.
How does that sound to you?

I have so many weaknesses...lol...but I am going to start sifting through them! Desserts had never been on the top of my list but over the last few months I have noticed it is a big problem for me....BIRTHDAYS...and I would have never noticed if I hadn't seen your statuses on how many days without dessert reminding me! Glad to say, every time there's birthdays, I remember your streak and take a fruit with me!
