Hi, Irene!

Any time you feel alone in life, remember that God is always there. He is there to save you, protect you, comfort you, guide you, love you, and watch over you. Every day and every night.

How timely! God knows just when we need a special word from Him.

Yes, I have a lot of wonderful friends but I am glad the Lord said He would be my husband.

Enjoy your spouse while you have him or her. Make time for them.
Also a friend said we can say the same for family and friends. I believe that also. Give me the roses while I am alive. When I am dead I can't smell them and they soon will die also.

EARTHQUAKES

My heart goes out to all of my friends who suffered an earthquake especially to those who had never suffered one before and thought they never would.
I am so glad you are all well or at least those we heard from are and assume the rest are also.

NOW I WANT TO TELL YOU SOMETHING FUNNY ABOUT THE ONLY TREMOR I WAS IN. It was not big enough to be called an earthquake.
When I lived in OAXACA Mexico I lived on the fourth floor of an apartment building.
One night I felt the bed shaking and thought it was my co-worker shaking as she was a very nervous person. Then I began to hear dishes rattling so decided it was an earthquake. Since I had never been in one I had no idea what to do I went back to sleep. The next morning I found out it was a tremor as it wasn't big enough to be an earthquake.
Needless to say it did not help my co workers nerves. She soon left to go back home and I went to teach in a Bible Institute in Monterrey.
Years later they had the big one in Mexico City which was huge and destroyed much of the downtown area. I saw some of the ruins on a trip there afterwards

This morning I was at church and noticed I had a missed call from my niece. When the day quieted down enough I called her back.
What is she calling during church for? She knows I go to church! We just talked last night. Well I will find out.
She said her cat had pressed the redial and that was my missed call. I said well tell your cat hi for me and sorry I missed its call.
Can you imagine me answering the phone and hearing a meau at the other end of the line?
We sure had a good laugh over it. The best laugh I have had in a month.

LAST WEEK WAS QUITE A WEEK, MADE ME WEAK

MONDAY 1. Took the to the car doctor. Did not get the work done. If I am going to spend agency prices I will go to the agency.
2. Bought gas and was going to go through the car wash. It was not working.
Final results, poor car. It looks like a dust ball rolling down the highway with bird poop on it.

TUESDAY Went to a new dentist to get my teeth cleaned. I like his hygienist and also the dentist. Also it is less than a mile down my street and he charges less than the other one charged. My teeth are

FRIDAY went to the specialist. He seems to think I am A-1 okay.
Then had lunch with two of my Spark Friends as one of them lives in the town and another close by. It is about 40 or more miles round trip from my home.

SATURDAY Went to a birthday for one of the ladies in my Sunday School class at a Japanese restaurant.
AND FOUND OUT SUNDAY I HAD BEEN MOTIVATOR OF THE DAY ON SATURDAY

I noticed I got a couple of the days turned around but don't want to risk losing this so will leave it.

Also the week before I had a visitation On Sunday and a funeral on Monday to attend.

Some things somethings not so

Again I want to thank all who voted for me as a MOD. You are appreciated my 's.

I have had no pain from the gout since getting the shot in my foot.

Today is a new day, a new week and a new month. Let's make the most of it.


P.S. Forgot to say I had the window doctor out also. They arrived on time and did a quick and good job.

A Donkey's Tale

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbours to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quietened down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.

2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.

3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.

4. Give more.

5. Expect less.
