WHY I AM NOT MYSELF

Ammonia levels.

When my ammonia levels go sky high I can't think right, talk right, reason, do trivia, etc.

You see I make a lot of mistakes.

They took my blood work today and hope it will show my ammonia levels are down.
They got to 135, then to 115, now I am believing they will go lower.

I am going to do trivia now. emoticon

So sorry you are going through this, Irene! I hope the doctors can get a handle on things. It is dangerous for you to be alone when your ammonia levels tend to run that high. Like you said, judgement and thinking are impaired and you want to sleep all the time. God Bless! emoticon

I'm praying that your ammonia will continue that downward spiral, so you can get to feeling so much better! Keep doing your trivia, as it keeps your mind sharp, even if it does take a while. Stay strong, an know you have other saints praying for you!

emoticon

Last night I fell again.

I ended up with my head under the desk but did not hurt myself except sore and terrible tired again.

Brian and his older son came and picked me up.

Then they went out and bought groceries.

One thing was emoticon

His son wanted to know where his deodorant and two big onions and one big jalapeno was as they were going to cook out.

I caught them just in time as they were just ready to go hunting for the night.

They waited until they saw I could walk and that I could get into bed.

The nurse who comes once a week came today and cooked my lunch for me and did other things for me.

The elder and his wife who are friends came and brought my dinner. Enough for two meals.

One of my good spark friends sent me a very useful gift. Bless you my friend. emoticon

This was also the day for my house cleaner to come and she did a lot of things for me and stayed an hour longer. Good thing it was time to give her Christmas.

Tips for house cleaners at the end of the year is supposed to be twice what I give usually so she came out ahead also.

I am still very tired but wanted to write this.

I'm glad you weren't hurt when you fell, Irene. I will be praying for you. I see that Marsha asked if you use a walker. I think a walker would be good for you to have, and a Life Alert as Chris mentioned.

Irene, I do hope you consider getting a Life Alert! They even have ones that detect falls, even if you are unable to push the button! Mama has one and it is the only way that we all feel comfortable with her living alone.
They are not too, expensive, either.
My prayers that you get stronger and are able to maintain your balance.
Do you use a walker in the house? Another thing that Mama, does, except for the steps. She has two railing to hold onto.
Don't mean to grill you...just concerned out of love.

AND glad Brian and son were still home to come over & help. Do you have a life alert button? If not, you really should get one. If you do, I am glad you have help at the touch of a button.
Praying that you become stable and no more falling!

TODAY AND TOMOROW

Monday, December 15, 2014

I felt worse today than I have been feeling.
emoticon I slept 12 hours.
I could not go out to get anything to eat.
I did do my dishes late this evening though.
I am afraid to take a shower but did make it though.
Brian did call 3 times to see if I was all right.
Tomorrow they will come to take my ammonia again.
I am praying it will be lower.
Irene

Irene because I care that you are okay, I am making this suggestion. Have you thought about moving into an assisted living facility until they get this ammonia level thing figured out, It is for your safety that I say this. A fall could mean a broken hip, and maybe hours along before someone would find you. Please don't take this wrong, I am only thinking of you. Hugs, Linda

Brian is a blessing, but I agree with the others that perhaps you could use more help when your ammonia level is high. They do have short term emergency care. Only use until you are better. Praying the levels go down soon...

Irene - It's time for you to rally your support team. I would not suggest you even try to shower without help. Be candid with the visiting health care workers, because they will know what resources are available.

Be careful!

Hello Irene. I am sorry you had, yet, another bad day.
Is there any way that someone could come once or twice a day, to help you with meals, your shower and just to be there?
Perhaps if you ask your church family and make them aware of your needs?
I know you are an independent woman.
It really helps my Mama to live alone, to have someone pop in, at least once a day.
Prayers that a good will come out of this situation. emoticon
