Boy! Yesterday I had to drag my you know what to get my exercises done. I was very interested in the Chilean Miners Rescue on TV and I was also cleaning half of my kitchen cupboards (part of fall cleaning!). Anyways, I ended up too close to dinner by the time I was done working for the day. Then, after dinner, I had so little energy and/or ambition to go downstairs to do my workouts. Finally, by 7:30 p.m., I ended doing half my usual strength exercises, but I did the full stretching routine and I did a 30-minute session on my old rusty stationary bike. Today, as soon as I'm done sparking, I'll do my workout then I'll start doing my house chores.

Glad the weekend is over. Although I did pretty good staying within my calorie range, I missed exercising. Wait a minute! Is that me saying that? WOW, I am changing for the better. You would not have heard me saying, even thinking that a few months ago. Now, if I could only get DH to do it. He needs it even more than me!!!

The kids are here and I missed them. Our grandson, now 4, has a very sweet disposition. He's now in school full-time (kindergarten) and loves it. But believe me, he was tired when we picked him up; had to have a nap on the trip home to Nana's. Our granddaughter, now almost 4 months old, is a little different. Although she looks exactly like her big brother at her age, she is a little more temperamental. Or perhaps it's me who is not used to her (two boys of my own and one grandson). That's it, I'm not used to her clues. What a revelation! My apologies Leigha Marie, you are not temperamental. It's your old Nana who does not know you well yet! And she's getting old too!
I had forgotten how stressful a crying baby can be. She does like to be held and believe me, she lets you know it. But Nana can't hold her all the time. Tomorrow, if she cries and I can't find any wrong with her, she'll have to settle herself; a little crying won't hurt her. I even think I'll let her nap as long as she wants tomorrow to give me a chance to have some quality time with her brother. I missed him so! And he's so patient with her and tells me all the time that babies cry a lot because they can't talk yet.
Anyways, I made the Boston Baked Beans today in the crockpot. They were delicious. I added 2 more tbsp ketchup and 3 slices of bacon instead of one just to please DH. Everyone liked them. I'll do them again in the spring. I missed my exercises today and barely made 8 glasses of water on account of all this driving. However, inspite of a lunch of Cosco hot dog and a few french fries from DH, I still was in my calorie range. Was not smart enough to bring fruits on the road... better planning for next time.
I'm tired now so I'll just sign off. Tourlou! : )

Four weeks since their last visit. I am both very excited and worried about having them for a couple of days. I know I won't have time during the day and energy after they've gone to bed to do my exercises; that's why I did 40 min cardios all week instead of 30 min sessions. I now have to think about what food to prepare.
I could make that Boston Baked Beans recipe (Chef Meg's) in the crockpot; I've been wanting to try it for quite some time. It will cook while we drive to town for the day tomorrow; we'll do a bit of shopping, more than likely eat out (I'll have to watch it here,) and we'll pick them up at around 4, back home at about 6. That'll work. For Saturday, we'll have oatmeal w/fruits for breakfast (Dustin likes oatmeal), a ham sandwich with side salad for lunch and turkey dinner later on. Yep! That's settled. I'll be OK!

I took my measurements this past Monday and from what I could read, I didn't move too much at all. I know that my clothes are looser now that they were then, but the numbers did not show it. I must have taken my measurements at a slightly different place; when one gets as big as me, it is sometimes hard to know what is where. Hemm... I once read a comment from one of our SP about taking a photo of herself when measuring so that she could do it the same way every time. I will do that too this morning. I'm thinking that as I progress with my weight loss, my skin, with some of the resilient fat, will droop (I've seen that on TV!) Oh God! I just thought of my boobs. How does one keeps accurate measurements when that happens! They will truly look like those on cartoons of old people jokes going around by emails!!! Sooooo, I think I will also add a caption to the picture that the tape was put 3" below the rib cage (waist) or 2" below groin (upper thigh), etc. I'm now starting thinking about cosmetic surgery... That's for another blog two years from now! Think positive!!!
