Yesterday we looked at the extra motivation you could get by increasing your desire for the end result, using the pleasure of your vision and dreams to drive you forward.
Here's another motivator that's not so much fun - but it works if you're someone who is motivated by getting away from things you don't want rather than moving towards pleasure.
To do this you need to dream a little again, but this time ask yourself ...
How will it be if I never get to my dream life but carry on doing whatever I'm doing just now?
How heavy will I be in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years if I carry on eating and taking as little exercise as I am just now?
How will I look?
How many years will I be on and off diets, not losing weight permanently, miserable as sin?
Which diseases am I likely to have in store if I don't start living a healthier lifestyle? Heart Disease? Diabetes? Cancer? High blood pressure? Stroke?
How healthy am I likely to feel even if I'm extremely lucky and I don't get any of those things?
How will I feel about myself if I don't keep my commitment? (Ashamed? Sad? Disappointed? Depressed? Angry at myself? )
How will I feel when my friends are enjoying a healthy slim life and I am too tired and sick to join in?
While you are immersed in how bad it would be not to achieve your goal, ask yourself...
What am I prepared to do to make sure I never have to worry about any of this? What action am I going to take today that takes me out of this possibility and into the achievement of my ideal life....
* Out of disappointment and into success
* Out of tired and breathless and into energy and health
* Out of depression and into well-being
* Out of laziness and into action
* Out of fat pre-processed snacks and into healthy delicious meals?
Add some of your own alternatives. Each of these is a CHOICE that you make every day. Incredible that anyone chooses not to be healthy and slim when you think about it. What are you going to choose for yourself?
So you don't get too caught up in how bad things could be (and start thinking about how bad they are now and console yourself with a chocolate bar), once you've completed this exercise, immediately bring yourself back to the good future you are going to have with
your dream vision from the motivation we spoke of yesterday - wallow in that for a bit and
DECIDE to do it!

You have made a decision about your health and your weight that feels right for you and that
you believe you can achieve. You are committed to action. So far so good.
Now let's make it even easier for you to keep your commitment and achieve the shape you want.
You can push yourself to achieve. You can use pure willpower. This feels like hard work and a struggle but pushing yourself and willpower do work.
Alternatively, you can strengthen your DESIRE for a brighter future. Your desire will pull you along and reduce the feeling that you have to force yourself to achieve, to grin and bear it until
you make it.
Make it easier on yourself - increase your desire to help your motivation.
Permission granted for a little daydreaming here.
Imagine you have created the best possible shape for yourself.
How would you look? How would you feel? What does it feel like to be healthy, fit and slim? How would your clothes look? Imagine going shopping for clothes in your new size. What will you choose? How do others react to you? What do they say? What do you say to yourself? What sort of day would you have? And what sort of mood
would you be in?
And in this ideal situation, what kind of life are you leading?
What would you choose to eat? Greasy fries, pies and cookies, cakes loaded with chemicals or do you think of yourself enjoying nutritious delicious natural food? Imagine the energy you'll have from living the best life you can. Enjoying all foods in moderation, feeling great about eating out with friends, knowing you are staying on track to maintain your beautiful figure and yet enjoying food when you want it without pigging out.
And what will you do in your spare time? Will you hang about the house with limp hair and flick through 50 TV channels to find something to do? Or will you be out and about showing off your trim figure, enjoying fresh air and movement. What fun things will you take up - skating or swimming or dancing or golf - now that you feel lighter than air? Will you join in more? Have more fun with family and friends?
Give yourself time to decide on your dream look and lifestyle, without worrying about how to make it happen. There are no limits to how good you can look and feel, how your life can be.
Write down the vision you have for yourself. Be specific about what you want. You can take it further and include your vision for your work, your home, your relationships if you like, mapping out your whole future. Who knows where feeling good about your health and
your body can take you.
Once you have a dream description which inspires you, which makes you feel good, spend a little time each day living in your dream world. Read your description and lose yourself in it for a few moments. Decide what steps you can take next to move towards it. Use it to allow yourself to be pulled forward towards your goals.

Today.. I sure hit the jackpot. Was at a garage sale yesterday and they had a Gazelle there. I didn't buy it but spoke to the gentleman about what I was really looking for the old slim gyms. He said he had one sitting in his closet and would bring it back today. Well he sure did, but guess what the gazelle was still there too. I got both of them for $25.00. Can you believe it? This is going to be so much better on my knees. I think it was all God sent because I have been praying about this for quite a while. Just had to share my joy with ya all., WooHoo.. Go me.. Donna

We have already talked about making decisions and the power of your decisions no we will add even more strength to your decision by underpinning it with BELIEF, belief that you can achieve whatever you want to achieve.
The fact is, the more we believe in ourselves, the more we expect to achieve our dreams and our goals, the more sure we are of actually achieving them - even if our ability, our motivation is no different from those who believe less.
Now let's face it, everyone has some doubts and insecurities about themselves and their abilities.
In the case of weight loss your doubts may have been reinforced over the years by any number of failed attempts to lose weight and keep it off. Nearly every dieter has at least one experience of feeling like a failure.
BUT the past does not have to affect the future unless you let it!
Chances are you never really committed to your decision in the past. You had the desire to lose weight but you didn't really commit to it or you committed to losing (and lost weight) but you didn't commit to staying slim once you reached your ideal weight. If you really had made that commitment, you would not be reading this today and looking to lose weight again.
COMMIT, COMMIT, COMMIT and you can't go wrong!
You have committed this time to doing whatever it takes. You can do this as long as you believe you can.
And do you know what? EVERYONE CAN!
Just to make it easier try this exercise to skyrocket your belief!
1. Write an exhaustive list why you believe you can do this. Maybe you've lost weight in the past at least once. Maybe you know you can lose a pound - and that means you can do it 15 times and lose 15. Maybe you enjoy healthy foods. Maybe you know a great slimming class. Maybe your friends are supportive. Maybe you have great strength of character. Maybe you have a huge desire to be successful. Whatever you have on your side write it down - explore
all your resources of money, time, people, experience, knowledge, skills and personal characteristics. Don't forget to add how much commitment you have and that you've decided to do whatever it takes.
2.Once you've written your list take a break of at least an hour.
3. Re-read your list and add to it.
4. Do this 3 times until you have a huge number of reasons underpinning your belief and you can't see any reason why you couldn't achieve what you want with all those things going for you.
5. Rewrite your list so that it reads well and turn it into a great belief statement about how you know you can succeed. Read your statement every day - even create a slogan from it that symbolizes your belief. For example, "I have so much going for me that my new
shape is a certainty".
Have a great day

In Decisions, Decisions, you decided that you wanted a healthier and slimmer
you. You formulated a decision which will make a huge difference to
your body, your health, your future well-being. (If you didn't
manage to get this together, please do it now, rather than reading
on. Just reading will not get you anywhere - it's only action that
counts as far as your body is concerned!)
Start today, by reviewing your decision.
* Is it the right decision for you? Does it feel good? Can you live
it, breathe it?
* Is it big enough? It's more motivating to decide to be healthy and
slim for the rest of your life than it is to lose 5lbs for
Jeannie's wedding.
* Is it stated clearly? Is it short and concise or too rambling to
remember?
* Have you put feeling into it?
* Are you ready to do whatever it takes because of it?
Once you have it absolutely right give it more POWER! Start living
it!
Power comes from focus. From having the decision so much at the
forefront of your mind that it can't be forgotten.
What can you do to focus on your decision?
* Write your decision on postcards and stick them where you can see
them several times a day.
* Repeat your decision three times every morning and three times
every evening (and/or three times before every meal!)
* Keep a decision diary. Write daily about your decision and how it
is helping you make different choices as you go about your day.
* Create a collage that represents your decision
* Wear a piece of jewelry which symbolizes your decision
* Talk to others about your decision
* Make a daily post to a diet forum
Think also about why this decision is important to you. What are
all the implications of taking your decision? What will you gain by
it?
