THE CAR KEYS

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

Our time is coming! or in some cases may be here already!

Several days ago as I left a meeting at a hotel; I
desperately gave myself a personal TSA pat down.

I was looking for my keys. They were not in my pockets.
A quick search in the meeting room revealed nothing.

Suddenly I realized I must have left them in the car.
Frantically, I headed for the parking lot.

My husband has scolded me many times for leaving the keys in
the ignition.
My theory is the ignition is the best place not to lose
them. His theory is that the car will be stolen.

As I burst through the door, I came to a terrifying
conclusion. His theory was right. The parking lot was empty.

I immediately called the police. I gave them my location,
confessed that I had left my keys in the car, and that it had been stolen.

Then I made the most difficult call of all, "Honey," I
stammered; ( I always call him "honey" in times like these.)

"I left my keys in the car and it's been stolen."

There was a period of silence. I thought the call had been
dropped, but then I heard his voice.

"Are you kiddin' me", he barked, "I dropped you off"!!!!!!!

Now it was my time to be silent. Embarrassed, I said, "Well,
come and get me."

He retorted, "I will, as soon as I convince this cop I
didn't steal your car."

FINALLY worked out the problems with the insurance company about my PT!

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

After many phone calls & a letter to my insurance company I am finally starting my Physical Therapy tomorrow for my hip & back arthritis. The problem was getting them to agree to let me see someone "not in my network".

At first the insurance company gave me the "go-ahead", I went & the nurse did the evaluation & when I got home that day my doctor's office called & said my insurance had denied me. I called the Ins. Co. & was told if I wanted to I could write a letter stating why I needed to go somewhere closer to my home & asking for an overturn of the denial. She gave me the address in Houston & the name of the person that the letter should go to. I did this & a few days later got another phone call (from them in Houston) & they overturned their denial & said I could go locally (instead of making a 120 mile trip where they originally wanted me to go). Woohoo! Sure hope this works.

If you have a problem with your insurance company it pays to be "civil" & try to get them to work with you.

THE PERFECT DIET

Friday, August 31, 2012

At Wal-Mart buying a bag of Purina dog chow for my dog, while in the check-out line a woman behind me asked if I had a dog. Why else would I be buying dog chow, RIGHT ???So on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again, and that I probably shouldn't because I ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in intensive care with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms. I told her that it was essentially a Perfect Diet and all you do is load your pockets with Purina Nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story.) Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff a poodle's butt and a car hit me. I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard. Better watch what you ask me and be prepared for my answer. I have all the time in the world to think of crazy things to say. Now that you've read this I have to confess, I copied it from someone else. Share and make someone else smile too!!

DON"T QUIT

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

Don't Quit When things go wrong as they sometimes will.
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill.
When the funds are low, and the debts are high.
And you want to smile, but have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest if you must, but do not quit.
Success is failure turned inside out.
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt And you can never tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit/
It's when things go wrong that you must not quit.

FINALLY...answers for my pain

Friday, August 17, 2012

I have been suffering from severe pain from my hips & lower back for some time now. Because of this, I have not been exercising & have gained quite a bit of weight.

emoticon

After several x-rays my doctor says I have "facet arthritis" in both hips and lower back. She wants me to go to physical therapy & see if this will help. I am ready for anything that will help at this point. Currently, I am working with my insurance company to try & get this started.

Hopefully, if I can get the pain down to "bearable" status I can get back to walking & start to lose some of this weight. Hold good thoughts for me SP.

OH girl I so relate!!!! i have severe sciatica which has been flared up since May but super bad since Aug. just now getting relief. and it has been a stretching machine at chiro that helped. Drugs stopped some pain but the nerve was still pinched. This machine helps to slooooowly pull the vertebrae apart and helps them stay that way which will releive the pressue on my S1 nerve causing such bad sciatica and pins and needles, numbness etc.
HUGS and hope you get some relief.

sorry to read about your pain. Try exercising in water as it supports a lot of weight. Make sure you take the analgesics 30-40 minutes before you do any exercise too.

Yeah, it's like a vicious circle isn't it. Weight isn't good for our bones, and our bones keep us from exercising to lose it. Ahhhh. Well, at least we are alive to get old uh?
Good luck, I know the physical therapy will help.
