Personally, I think it took courage to join SP in the first place (especially if you were a prior yo-yo dieter like me). Courage comes into play when we join a challenge and more courage to finish it. It takes courage to keep up with the tracking of nutrition and fitness. There is courage when we admit our mistakes and keep going anyway.

I must go now and get on my treadmill as I am in week 2 of the 5 K Challenge.

So, let's keep that courage going and "Spark on".

    Courage is a big word and joining SP has helped me. Even when I have bad days, week or just don't feel like it, SP has taught me to get with the program and move on!!! The morning light is a new day and it's mine to do with as I may! Today I'm choosing to get my act together and get with it!! Thank you for this blog I needed it!

Week 1 of training for 5 K .....accomplished!

I finished my training for the week. I train by walking on my treadmill the required distances on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday I walk 3 miles with Leslie and her DVD. I also do strengthening with hand weights on M, W, and F. Tomorrow, Sunday, will be my day of rest. Whew!

So far, so good with the training. Next week I will have to walk farther, but at least my treadmill keeps up with the time and distance covered.

I will do the 5 K in April (hope I am ready by then) emoticon

Well I did it this morning. After some thought and much encouragement from fellow SP, I decided to go with the 5 K walking challenge. Start training today...... will keep you posted on my progress.

I seem to be in a plateau with my weight loss although I am tracking all my food and exercise. SP has automatically increased my calorie count on My Nutrition page, but I still stay on the low side of the calorie count.

Do you think if I join the 5 K Challenge it would "jump start" my weight loss again? I looked for it today and could not find it. Hope it is not too late. Will decide today. I try to walk on my treadmill (about 30+ minutes) on the days that I do not do Leslie Sansone Walking DVD.

    Plateaus are inevitable. It signifies that your body is getting used to its smaller size. Be patient. You can blast past it by upping your exercise. KJMPEACHES makes a good point about varying calories too. It's helped me in the past. Just don't get discouraged. emoticon

    You might want to try the bounce with calories! High one day and low another. It tricks the body!!! That has worked for me in the past! Always staying in the range of calories! emoticon emoticon

    I know what you mean about being on a pleateau. I continue to do the right things. Since I started using the treadmill I am working a lot harder which I think should eventually get some weight to come off. Good luck!

    Please join the 5k walking program. It's fun and it is a challenge.
I also do the treadmill and Leslie's dvd's but I also do some weight training...3#'s and stretching. I also wear a pedometer daily and it's just for steps.
If possible you can do a catch up. I don't think it's too late. I'm on my second week and I really enjoy the challenge.
