My mother came home from her doctor. The doctor told her the most important thing is DIET. Number 1 - Diet.

The diet suggested.

Did it come from the sea?
Did it come from the earth?
Did it come from the air?
Does it have only one ingredient?
Did it come from some plant (ie. processing/manufacturing plant)?

So you are only to eat things that are of one ingredient, not processed, and came from the earth, sea.

Which means no sugar, no bread (unless you took each ingredient - organic and made it yourself), nothing processed.

    Makes absolute sense! No grains or breads here, no sugar, no anything out of a box. And nutrition really is 80% of the game :)

Water Water Water

On my spiritual path, my next step is to understand, honor, love and adore the element of water.

This means only drinking water for 9 days. No coffee, tea, soda, no water with flavor packets etc. There is also much more to it but the drinking only water seems to be the hardest part. So I am not going to beat myself up over food the next few days but I will complete this 9 day water meditation. I am determined!!!!!

I will update this post to reflect the journey ahead.

9/25/12 - Day 1 * Edit 9/26/12
Yesterday was easy in the morning. I just kept swigging back water all day.
Afternoon, I started to crave like you wouldn't believe. I haven't had cravings like that in a whille. Then in the afternoon I started to get a bad headache and then when I got home I was so exhausted I couldn't do anything. Although I didn't cut out sugar and I didn't focus crazy on food intake, I did try a little and the lack of sugar and caffeine drained me.

9/26/12 - Day 2

I went to bed early last night and I am still tired. I am craving the tea and coffee this morning. I just ate donuts so I feel full but I still want the sugary drink. I can't tell if I am getting sick or if I just feel bad because of the lack of sugary drinks. I am going to take some vitamins. I will continue... 9 days - WATER!

Edit 9/27/12 -

Day 2 was killer!!! I was so completely exhausted. I went home from work, did a few things and passed out around 8:30pm and didn't get up until 7:10am and I couldn't get up this morning. So exhausted. I still feel a headache, I am tired. But I am doing pretty good, I am drinking more water than I ever drank in my life and it is a good way to cleanse and purify but boy do I feel it...

    I fast quite often. It just came natural after I got a grip on the carbs. I make sure I have a good meal of fats and proteins the night before, and the first part of my fast is while I sleep :)

Fasting has so many benefits. I do some biohacks though, that probably would not work for a spirtual absolute water fast. The biohacks though include things like bulletproof coffee, fermented veggies like kraut, and bone broth, all of which do not hender sone of the health benefits of fasting. It just all depends on the results you are wanting. For me, it's is mostly fat loss.

90 Day Fall into Fitness Challenge

It is so disheartening to have so much hope, *try* and then end up back in frustration, despair yearning for a perfect day one! To change my life.
To be free from all the crap.

I was at a class this weekend and he talked about balance and that you can't live in the future and you can't live in the present. You need to be in the moment but you need to recognize there is a tomorrow and to bring balance into your life.

Now, that the astrological time is in Libra, the time of balance, bringing things back to balance, where things go from physical to emotional, light to dark.

I again am starting at Day one of a 90 day challenge.

This time -- I am going to constantly reaffirm my future while at the same time realizing only this moment counts. Why am I doing what I am doing?

I will remember tomorrow doesn't count. 5 mins from now doesn't count. It is where my head is at and what I am doing now.... and why....

8/22/12 Progress - 29 Days to go

This morning I ate quinoa, mushrooms for breakfast along and shortly after greek yogurt with honey. I was able to resist the morning Donut Day and I pick them up for the office!!!

I used to eat a juice, chocolate milk, a bagel, 10 munchkins and maybe a coffee roll on Wednesdays. They were always my gluten days. Today I was able to resist everything until 1pm when I had a sweet tooth and had some munchkins. The sad part is 2 munckins had no jelly so I ate two more.
But I am not having anymore and I have had only water to drink all morning.

I think eating some quinoa and then some yogurt is a good start because it fills me up and allows me to resist bad eating. I did sneak quinoa whenever I felt a little hungry through out the day.

For lunch I had some salad and quinoa and I feel clear and good. Unlike when I usually feel tired and full, sick, sluggish. I am starting to get a little hungry again so I am going to eat some tomatos from our garden. I will not eat any more munchkins!

    I hadn't considered quinoa and mushrooms for breakfast, but that would probably do a nice protein and carb boost first thing in the morning, and it'd taste good. :)

6 Month Commitment to Change

I am happy that so many of my friends are losing weight and getting healthy. I think I have at least 6-7 that I can think of right now, on the journey to wellness. This makes me very excited because with strong people succeeding in your corner, you can only feel surged along by their inspirational stories.

I went to my health coach last night. During the first session we discussed the importance of greens in your diet. Last night we discussed the importance of adding the right kinds of grains.

I have put my own commitment off because I haven't had the time to write everything down.
But life isn't about a perfect journey, it is about the full journey, all the mistakes, bumps, bruises during the way.

For me, Official Start Date : 8/21/12

My goal for 9/21/12: I want to be eating healthy real food each day. I want to build stamina, endurance and health through strength training, yoga, running, and spinning. I want to start figuring out what I want to do with my life - dive in, be creative, follow the stream of consciousness, give my all to the things I want to do. Write, Paint.

For the next month, my Current Plan is to do the following and find out what works...
