Day 33

Phew the scales started moving again! I am at 172.4 today. My body fat said 34.5 ( it was at 35.3 when I started measuring and I calculated when I started, 3 weeks or so before I got these scales, it was probably at 40%) also I was about 1 lb more hydrated than before, but not sure how accurate it is. Muscle went to 27.6 % too. If I lose 32 lbs of fat to get to my goal of 140 (and do not build any muscle) I would be at 18% body fat according to my calculations. That would be GREAT!! Of course I have to get there. I am about 1/3rd of the way though today.

Made a delicious breakfast smoothie with mixed fruits from WholeFoods (since my salad was bad last time after I drove 60 miles and a ferry-ride home they gave me a $25 gift card - thanks WF Market)! Anyhow the smoothie had one banana, 2 tablespoons non-fat plain yogurt, blueberries, pineapple, canteloupe, honeydew melon and one slice of Kiwi Fruit. YUM! I added a little honey though and it was perfect.

I am on the first page of the Leaderboards at #25. Not sure sitting at my PC getting points is actually contributing to my weight loss program though lol! Still its keeping me on track!

Day 32

Well I had a busy day but it went well. I did not even weigh myself this morning. The dental visit went well and we got one filling done that was a relief. The zoo was fun and the baby tigers adorable, except, being three, my daughter was more interested on climbing on the bronze animal statues than the cute baby tigers. I ate more or less healthy, even ate salad on the way home, but it was tempting to eat more especially in WholeFoods which has to have the most deliciously healthy and fattening snakcs for a health food store! I resisted but did treat myself to a pina-colada ice cream bar (all fruit and no ice-cream and very delicious all for 9o calories!) I did finish my daughter's pizza but really was not very much and then had my salad. Not sure how many calories I ate it was hard to estimate but close to 1200 which is the low end of my range. Honestly I never eat at the high end as I am usually full on the low end, I think because I am eating pretty healthy. Anyhow did not do any specific exercise but we walked around the zoo for a couple of relaxing hours so it was a good compromise!

Well down to 174.0 but 34.7 percent body fat and muscle up a little today. I am definitely on track if slowly! I am not sure how accurate the scales are for measuring the fat, muscle and water but I do see a definite trend and I think thats the main thing.

So far took my daughter to her swim class, and was in the water with her so its a little active at least and did my strength training. It is totally pouring today though and have to motivate myself here!! I will be glad when I have my exercise space back next week. Anyhow will have to figure something out today. I definitely need some work-out DVD's and also one for the rebounder. I think my daughter will have fun doing them with me too. She is actually very agile and active and definitely needs a lot of physical activity. She is lucky she has apparently inherited my husband's metabolism and build!!

Well the rain miraculously stopped as soon as I decided I was ready to exercise. I did 30 mins on the Elliptical, 15 on the Rebounder and walked 2.25 miles pushing the bike trailer, I am a little tired though!

I have been looking at Plateau Busters and really feel tired so I have decided to take a rest day tomorrow. I have to go to Seattle to take my daughter to the dentist so I think maybe as a little reward for us both we will check out the zoo near the dentist, its a small privately owned zoo and they have tiger cubs right now as well as reindeer and macaws, and cougar. I think it will be fun and a nice way to take a fun stroll for us both.

    GOOD for you sticking with the excercise! I probably would have taken the rain as a "sign" and given it up. :)

Day 30

Well nothing to celebrate today! I am up a lb despite eating 1200 calories yesterday and hiking further as well as 15 mins on Elliptical and 15 mins on Rebounder. I am hoping its my monthly visitor who is somewhat delayed, hope I am not over-doing it. I am just going to keep on and will get through this plateau I hope. I have no energy today and its pouring so its going to be a little hard to exercise. Maybe it will stop later! Once my step-sons go home I will move my exercise equipment back inside. We are building a log-cabin so our accomodation is a little cramped right now! I wish I could say I will be glad when I am finished but actually I will be glad when it actually starts!! We are in the final phase of getting the building permits though so hopefully we can start soon.

I can't believe we have had over 2 weeks of lovely weather with no rain since they arrived. Its been great especially for the Pacific NW! Anyhow maybe I need a little rest this morning and will see what the afternoon brings.

An interesting side-note when my hair is wet it holds o.2 lbs of water, thats how much my weight went up after my shower lol!

On the plus side my breakfast smoothie with fresh huckleberries and Himalayan blackberries from our property is awesome! I froze them overnight and yummy. The main blackberries are not ripe yet but in a couple of weeks they will be and will freeze a lot too if we have room. We have TONS of blackberries though. Last year I made Blackberry Cobblers with about my daily calorie count per serving no doubt! They are delicious though.

I did score a perfect 24 on the Healthy Lifestyle Scale, my first in the 30 days I have been here. Wish it translated into weight-loss but I am sure it translated into other good things!

So far I have done 15 mins Elliptical and 15 on the rebounder in the rain since the cloudy with showers has turned out to be non-stop rain since 4.30 this morning...

I really wish my daughter would stop stealing my food! Who would think that diet food would appeal to a 3.5 year old. She just snatched my apple and keeps drinking my carefully measured water which makes it hard to keep track. Now she can have the same apple and water but it does NOT apparently taste nearly as good as mine! Well at least she is off to a healthy start and I am on the toddler-see-food-and-eat-it-diet.

OK so I think she is my mini-personal trainer. I almost RAN to the beach to the tune of "Catch me Mummy" sad thing is she actually is hard to catch!! We had fun though and got me moving thats for sure!

    You are so cute! HOW YOU DOING! Dont you know everyday is a day for celebration! I love the comment about your wet hair and the 0.2 lbs. It sounds to me like you are building a little muscle there and you know that weighs more than fat, so dont concentrate so much on the scale, use your clothes or a tape measure instead. How cool is building a log cabin! That sounds wonderful to me. And the rain? We havent had any rain since December of last year! Everything around me is brown or dying. I know the worst is yet to come in August through November when the fires get worse! So enjoy that rain, in fact, go out and play in it for me!

Well I made it 4 weeks and am proud of myself, its really becoming more of a lifestyle (again) which is good. I wish I could eat a little more though. Yesterday I ate more but still only about 1200 calories and the scales did not move at all. I don't really like to eat below 1200 but if I am a little lower I seem to lose, I have been eating a little more to try and kick my metabolism back in again though! I am really exercising too, and definitely a lot fitter, I would like to get to a reasonable weight though soon, but I know patience is the key. Thats the hardest thing for me, sticking to the nutrition and fitness regimen is not that hard but not seeing results is!! I do feel my weight loss is slower now than I would like but I realize 1 or 2 lbs a week is what I should be aiming for. I would like to get to 160 then up the calories a little and see what happens!

Went for a nice and little longer hike with my daughter, who did great, some other people thought she was five! We ate wild huckleberries and blackberries along the way and they were delicious and truly organic! I picked some more when we got home for my smoothie tomorrow morning - can't wait!!
