Good start to the month here. I am really having a mini-vacation this week despite the 2 hour drive time - and 3 hours to myself every day walking by the ocean, through the forest or round a gorgeous Victorian town on the ocean is like bliss. Today a deer and her two very young fawns walked across the road (while I was waiting to have my car unlocked after I left the keys inside!) and were six feet away looking right at me. It was worth the $53 to get my keys out lol. Then had a healing session for half an hour, then took DD to the beach and she had icecream and I treated myself to some ice coffee (less calories!) and then we went swimming for 3 mins, had a nice sandwich for dinner and came home. 23279 steps! Scales flaky because old one said 145 - new one said 149.8 which would have been fine but yesterday it said the same thing and the old one said 147! Its a conspiracy I tell you! I do think I have lost weight tho and with all the exercise this week I should have!

    $53 is a small price to pay to see the deer! Glad you are enjoying the time - and the ocean, I LOVE it! It's definitely a way to center and find that calm!
MY scale is with yours right now - it's GOT to be a conspiracy. Okay, so maybe for me Aunt Flo is just around the corner b/c the tape measure jumped in with HER hideous news, too! Grrr!

DD is at dance camp every day 12 to noon this week, so have been gone a lot, but getting a good walk in every day despite my food which is doing better, homeopathy is amazing I have to say. Definitely upped the aerobic steps too, I adjusted my weight last week for my new scale so I can see I actually did lose and am just having to bite the bullet and lose the weight! Tues



I know we all say numbers don't matter but look at us - we count every step, some of us count every calorie, we weigh measure, monitor heartrate and exercise minutes and thats what keeps us on track, for me weighing and stepping has worked great and tracking my calorie intake and the only way I am going to stay on track is to do it! I feel good as I enjoy the exercise and am resigned to a lower calorie intake for a while. At least I eat healthy and its only 10 lbs not 50 like it was. So more in perspective and down a little today - 9.8 lbs to go lol! Yesterday did 76 minutes of aerobic walking and 30 mins of laps in the pool, and today did 103 mins of aerobic walking - on a 3 hour hike, I forgot how useful it is the Omron pedometer tracks this - plus burned 368 calories walking yesterday, 388 calories walking today.

    I used to sleep with my pedo on. Now, I'm in love with my heart rate monitor. Awesome job on the exercise! I'm sure U will see results soon.

Foot is a little better but doubt I will go for a hike, will see how it does around town, its better with sneakers on at least. Upset because I made the fatal mistake of getting a new scale - Omron no less and not only is is 3 lbs higher than the analog, it gave me 3 different weights in the space of 3 seconds. So my quest for the perfect scale continues - just want accurate and consistent and that should not be too much to ask. So bummed on the weight and exercise front as seems both are continually thwarted despite my best efforts. I am down from last week on the analog scale - about 3 lbs, so will keep on doing what I am doing and hope that will work this time! The numbers are all relative but a consistent accurate scale helps a lot with motivation.

    How scales can be the dearth of our weight loss plans! Argh! I have an idea of how frustrating that is for you. You've gone through many scales in the relatively short period that I've been following you. Thinking of you!

    YIKES! I'll stick with my old WW scale I bought at Target --- three years ago. It may not have been kind this morning, but I guess it's reliable.
Hm, maybe get the REALLY old fashioned ones where you have to add pebble-like weights to the one side until it evens out ... nah, they probably don't make them anymore!!!

Frustrating day but still ahead of schedule. My foot is better but hurts to walk, but not as painful as it was yesterday, which is a good sign hopefully! Did manage to get some steps in as well as 2 hot baths with Epsom Salts, back in the RV tonight though, its just easier when DH is not here for now. Took DD to register for her dance camp she is excited about, its 12 to 3 every day this week then they do a show on Friday! Was hoping to get some good walks in so hope my foot feels better by tomorrow! DD offered to do my exercise for me! If only it was that easy lol!

Omron pedometer arrived and forgot how nice it is, and got lots of steps in Friday just because I had it! 16000 steps!Then Saturday was helping DH tear down the old outhouse (from previous tenant) and managed to stand on a nail, sigh. Hurts a lot and need to see if I need tetanus ugh. Really think I am ok tho. Went out for dinner last night for wedding anniverary today, had salmon potato asparagus, 3 coconut prawns for appetizer and chocolate cake for dessert but did not finish it!. My mother made this for us which was very nice:

Can hardly walk on my foot and so annoying as want to exercise tho its better today than yesterday. Talked to Dr and watching it right now tho as well as doing other things to prevent infection etc.

    OH, be careful with that! Been there, done that with a rusty nail. I got the tetanus shot just to make sure, but it's the bacterial infection that's to be your biggest concern. Heck, U probably know that already. Are U doing tea tree oil on it? Or even colloidal silver? Do something to make sure U are fighting off infection. Sorry I didn't see this earlier, I've been CRAY busy!

    Congratulations on your anniversary and NOT eating all of that delicious dinner. Good will power. Is that your wedding picture?? You were a beautiful brid. In my Florida vacation blog I did come clean and confess that the photo of the beach beauty was not my butt or body.

I got a tectanus couple of years ago. It was a non event. I guess if you are skeemish about needles it might be a big deal.

Take care of you. I hope you enjoyed your vacation weekend, in spite of the "nail" incident. emoticon

    First of all, happy belated anniversary! Secondly, OMG about the nail. I'm so sorry this happened. I know you're doing all you can to take care of it. I just feel bad this happened! Glad you made the most of your evening, though. :0)

OUCH on the nail! That tetanus shot stings like CRAZY! I'm so accident prone that I probably should get a booster every 7 years, not 10! I'm assuming you're soaking that foot in some epsom salts, right?
