Starting the Year Off Strong

Monday, January 07, 2013

I had a few bumps in the road in December, but am feeling that things are going much better in January. My motivation is strong and I have to say after starting Visalus I have much more energy - none of that pooped out feeling at 2 pm.

I have lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks since starting the 90 day program - and love the flexibility in the utilization of fruit etc - so that it doesnt taste like the same thing everyday.

Also - I have been faithfully walking each day - which is something that I have struggled with in the past.

The Yo-Yo Game!

Tuesday, December 25, 2012

God... I hate starting this over and over again... and yet, now is not the time to give up. I recently worked with an amazing online coach, Coach Krystie and learned a lot from her the last few months, she challenged me and got me motivated.

I am going to start this journal along with a serious weightloss journey that is going to be successful this time. Realizing that I cannot lose 120 lbs all at once I am going to set some realistic goals for my upcoming year.

Get in the habit of tracking every bite that goes into my mouth
Cut out the extra salt in my diet
Drink 12+ glasses of water a day
Stay within appropriate calorie limits based up on my weight
Do some type of exercise daily and track it
Lose between 5 - 10 lbs a month

I don't want this to be another failed attempt at a diet, I want this blog to be something that I can look at that will demonstrate my successes over the course of the year, and perhaps be a motivational tool for others that are struggling also.

Yo-yo stinks, doesn't it? Been there 8 times in the last 25 years - lots of weight lost only to be regained.

The good thing is that you've got a great set of reasonable goals. I like that you didn't say "I will lose X pounds by this date" - the range thing is better. I don't do "weight by a date" because I can't control how much I'll lose.

Fully tracking everything honestly, hitting your daily net calorie target ( I shoot for +/- about 100 calories each day) and being mindful about your eating are all great things that you CAN do.

I look forward to hearing about your progress.

Make it a great day!

Krystie is amazing, I have not used her as coach, I don't have the xtra money, but her motivation on the Dandy Lion Team was great!
You can do this, I will be here on the sidelines cheering you on!

Very Encouraged

Saturday, December 15, 2012

Well after following everything to the letter - no cheating and writing everything down - I dropped another lb between yesterday and today. Typically I would immediately reward myself by eating something "big" because I have some flexibility. I did not do that today - stuck to the plan, exercised and put everything so far into my food plan.

One step at a time - this can be done!

Someone once told me. "do not reward yourself with are not a dog!" It struck a nerve. Boots are on my list boots!

One day at a time...picking ourselves up and moving on when we need it.

December 14 - Day of Accountability

Friday, December 14, 2012

I go up I go down in weight... This week was a down week - losing 5 lbs despite being on travel - however it was the same 5 lbs that I had gained back over several weeks.

I need to track what I eat... drink the water, and stop making excuses. Coach Krystie nailed it on the head today - I need to break this cycle - and move out of this number.

I am wondering - perhaps I am afraid of losing the weight - as I always seem to self sabotage. With that said, one foot in front of the other (literally), and I am looking forward to continued good things next week!
