I automatically got on the treadmill when I got to the gym, but I remembered to set it for 2 miles instead of 4. Wore my knee wraps and they felt pretty good. Then ... the elliptical. I had tried it in the past, but prefer the treadmill. On the treadmill, my steps are counted 1:1. They are more like 2:1, 3:1? with the elliptical. It may not have counted all my steps, but it pushed my heart rate up higher than the treadmill did.
Took the pups on their 1.5 mile walk and pushed my steps above 10K. It was getting cloudy, so it was pleasantly mild. Looks like it might rain later, tho.
Sometimes, we need a little motivation to work out.

I got home this morning, started watching a stupid movie on SciFi channel (the world is going to end - solar flares will set the ozone layer on fire!!! Too much methane gas - ah-yee!!!) It was one of those so bad, I couldn't drag myself away. Got to sleep about noon - up at 1600 (4P) to potty the pups and staggered back to bed. Up again around 2000 (8P) - it's raining again. About 2100 (9P), it was dry enough to walk the pups. They had to sniff and remark everything after the rain. It made for a slow walk, but I got in stretches and lunges while they paused.
I haven't seen the stray budgie in my yard for a couple of weeks. Don't know if he flew off, died, got caught ... I hope he's doing OK. My 2 budgies are still cowering in fear from me. I talk to them, clean their cages, and try to move slowly. They cringe, flap, and squawk. Sigh.

I know, sounds strange. When you work shifts, not M-F, we ask each other all the time "Is this your Friday?" - meaning the last shift of the stretch. Usually, Fridays are my Thursdays - I have one more shift to go. (We also ask "Is this your Monday?") This week, for a change - Friday is my Friday.
I liked sleeping in early yesterday, and walking the pups in the evening - so I did it again today. Got off at my usual time, and was in bed by 09 - up @ 1700 (5P). Took Samurai & Shalako for a 35 minutes walk around the blocks.
Sooo glad I'm off tomorrow. I've been resting my knees since I haven't been hitting the treadmill since Tuesday. They're getting a little better every day. Maybe I should try the stationary bike or elliptical - I'm just always wanting the steps to count, and they don't on the bike or elliptical.
Woo-hoo! As I was casually doing my blog, a patient in a cardiac emergency (V-tach) came in - we all ran over, got him hooked up to the monitors, got lines and meds in him. Doing pretty well now - so I went back to my less ill patients. It's exciting when things work out right. Didn't have to code him (do CPR).
