Had to stay late - tired when I got up - busy here tonight - and I can't get into the cheezburger site - arrgh!!

Turn Around Day

Whee! Tried staying up most of the night, catching up on the recorded NCIC & NCIS, LA shows. I had tentatively planned to go to the gym about 3 or 4 AM - umm... no - started getting sleepy - got on the computer and did Spark People for a while, then - to bed @ 6A.


Slept a few intermittent hours, got up at 1300 (1P) made a pot of coffee, and went to the gym.


Worked out on the treadmill & circuit - 3 miles on the treadmill today.


Came home and walked the pups. Even "Princess" Shalako did well. Surprising, since it was hot. Samurai did his usual "bird, motorcycle, walkers!!!" lunging about. Is it because he's a boy, his breed (Papillon), age (1.5 yrs), or what?


Gonna be a long night - it's moving quickly now, but not overwhelming. When (hopefully) it gets less busy after midnight, the lack of sleep is gonna kick in.

Back from my Doc & Dentist Visits

Saw my PCP (primary care provider) today @ the VA. Got my numbers from my March lab draw:


Cholesterol 180; HDL 60; LDL 102; triglyceride 89. Pretty much in line (or improved) from November. Other labs are very good, too. Scheduled my smash-o-gram (mammo) for July - the radiology department assures me they've changed to the digital version which isn't as painful. We'll see.


Got to the dentist (not VA). They know I love the nitrous. I don't drink alcohol (maybe one drink a year) or do drugs (I have a hard enough time keeping up with the stuff I have to take). Nitrous lets you feel good, not fear the reaper, er, dentist, and when they stop it, you're wide awake and able to drive home in about half an hour.


Also got novacaine - and more than 2 hours later, I was drooling my smoothie out of the left side of my mouth. Very attractive. Got blueberry smudges on my clothes. Ick


They have a new thing at the dentist - I used to have to go on one appointment to get the tooth prepped for the crown, and go back later to get the prepared crown placed. Their new toy made the crown while I watched the tech play with the computer - WOW! Can't floss for a couple of days or I might pop it off.


Still have to walk the pups and get my steps in - it was hot earlier, and I've been waiting for that feeling that my lip is sticking out 3 inches goes away.

Great going on the Labs!!!!!!! I love nitrous at the Dentist's too, I have been seeing the same dentist for 42 years and we have been doing nitrous for my dentist visits since I was 5 as otherwise I jump, jerk and move at the wrong times, I am totally dentistphobic so he gives me nitrous and I happily stare at the TV while he does his thing to my teeth. The really freaky thing about my dentist is he looks like he's only aged about 20 years in the last 42. Wish I aged like him!!!! LOL Report Inappropriate Comment

Because I'm "well endowed" the smashing has always hurt! Mine is scheduled for early June. Can't wait NOT. Hope the new ones are easier on you. Since our hospital is usually behind the times I don't have much hope of a less painful one but at least it's over quickly. Report Inappropriate Comment

Nightmares on Elm Street

I actually don't live on Elm Street, but I did have nightmares!

Since I'd slept a few hours yesterday, I had trouble getting to sleep last night. No problem, I just got out a new book and started reading it until it slipped from my hands. I can read the Kindle books without my glasses because I can make the font larger, but I have to have them for the smaller book print.


It was a Nora Roberts romance book - not even a vampire or werewolf story. (I do enjoy them). So, I was surprised when I started having weird dreams. My pups were attacked by some blobby creature, and I had to save them. Woke myself up, and started dreaming about space aliens. Sheesh! Started reading again until I dropped the book again. More bad dreams. Come on!!!


I was so tired by morning, I got up and fed the critters, let the pups out, watered the plants, and went back to bed. Read, fell asleep. No bad dreams. Yeah!
Still can't figure out where the dreams came from. Up at noon.


Got to the gym, did 4 miles on the treadmill. I stopped at WalMart on the way home and bought lawn stuff - including bug spray for the roaches - ick! The winds here have been really high the last few days. Supposed to be much less windy and also cooler tomorrow, so I hope I can use the Round-Up on the weeds and the poison on the bugs. Also got another catnip plant.


Walked the pups this evening, after the winds died down. Hope to get some sleep tonight without the weird dreams.
