Easy Mondays

Monday, August 31, 2009

This is my easiest day of the week for my program. I always behave on Mondays - probably more guilt than anything else - those weekends make Mondays so diet friendly!

Best Laid Plans

Friday, August 28, 2009

All three days of my long golf weekend are rain filled - so we cancelled all our rounds.
Need to re-group and re-schedule!

That is a bummer, but at least you are rescheduling. Golfing in the rain when you don't have to is not so fun. Enjoy your weekend!

Fat is a slippery slope

Thursday, August 27, 2009

Just when you think you have it covered, something happens to mess you up. It is hard to program flexibility into a health plan, but that is exactly what has to be done. Desite all the hurdles thrown in our path we must realize that we are not for worse from what we once were - we started this journey in tough shape long ago..... so pick up the pieces from the mess and move on.... our overriding flexibility is that we are never a failure if we keep on go'n on..... just like life is suppose to be.

Liver transplant for a 4 yr. old

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

OK - I now feel comfortable about announcing that my four year old grandson, Braedon, received a new liver this past Saturday and has passed his first 60 hours of recovery and is doing very well. All the REAL scary stuff is past and now on to a more typical recovery period. He will move out of the ICU ward today, but is looking at two to three weeks recovery before going home. Modern medicine is amazing!

He is in my prayer. I have a good friend whose grand daughter had to have liver transplant at a very early age years ago. All is well.

That is very scary stuff. It just isn't fair to see children that are sick. Sending prayers to your little grandson and to you too. emoticon

Boy am I stiff - 20 miles of rough terrain walling at during my two weekend rounds really did me in!
Oh well, the next 20 this coming weekend will be easier!
