Time to RECOVER!! - Part of the plan... blogging

Monday, July 13, 2009

Spring was nice, summer has been fantastic... and I have let my guard down. I feel and look bigger that a semi truck and I need to do something now! My wife is off to Florida for a one month stay with my mother in Sebring, That leaves me home alone.... to by own vices... or.... to a program that gets me back to the health that I enjoyed earlier this year. It is never too late to recover and now is the time. I will feel and look like a new man when Sharon returns from Fla.! I will journal my progress on my blog - making myself accountable!

This is what I'm doing too! I'm focusing more on the exercise end of it though. It's more fun to talk about what you've done verses what you've not done. I can improve my walk everyday but I can't lose a pound every day :)

Back to the trail

Saturday, June 06, 2009

After a couple of years of struggling with bursitis in my right hip it appears that I finally have it under control and can start back with my morning walks.I have started with short walks and feel fine afterward s. I'll increase the distance a little at a time and see where that leads me.

    Hi Dennis,

I have a lot of compassion for you when it comes to that hip. Four years ago I had to retire, due to a bad hip. Being a nurse involved a lot of running, lifting ect. I could hardley walk a block, feeling pain all the way. I am 66 and I am not ready to give up. On my last check up my Dr. told me I was the first person she had seen whose bone density improved. I can now walk almost 2 miles, depending on how my hip is doing that day. I am doing Coach Nicoles 10 min. Kick Boxing Video and her 20 min. Walk it out Video. Leslie Sansome has a Walk/Kickboxing DVD I also use. Keep walking...It will improve! Don't Give Up! We are still young!
