I need to get to the point where my plan is like breathing, part of my soul, part of my existence. Maybe it will never happen, but it would be nice. I think the trick is not to let the program be my life, but rather to have it a part of my life. Sometimes we get very compulsive about weight loss - I will try to be less compulsive and more natural.

This morning's re-test of my weekly weigh in confirmed a two pound loss for the past week. Another two pound week and I will crack the 230 lb barrier!

Weight is just one measurement of program success. My recent weight loss goals of late have been quite challenging. However, when I look at other things I find success:
1. Clothes are getting a little big - I am going to bring out those smaller sized pants, shorts,belts and shirts that I put in the back of the closet - for times like these. Surely something can be added to my wardrobe - and something can be discarded.
2. I am no longer getting those after lunch drowsy spells.
3. I am sleeping better
4. I do not get winded after 30 min. of shoveling that white stuff on my driveway.
5. I spoon better with my wife.
6. I have a renewed sense of confidence during my sales and negotiation sessions.

So, all things considered, I will not worry about the recent slow pace of my weight loss, things are good. The weight will come off and my journey will continue.

OK, after a week of hard work and attention to my nutritional intake, resulting in a five day streak of being under the low end of my calorie range you know something was going to happen. It did. I had a one dinner-night crash of about 1,500 calories (2,950 for the entire day) carrying me about 750 calories over my daily upper limit. Won't know how much this will hurt my weekly goal until tomorrow's weigh-in. Can your body really absorb a big excess of calories in one day? I bet it depends on what type of calorie - sugar, fat, carb, etc. I wonder.
