Field Roast Frankfurters!

Monday, August 01, 2011

Just enjoyed a very tasty Field Roast Frankfurter and delicious corn on the cob for dinner. My husband enjoyed it just as much as I did! emoticon

Here's a link to their blog and a photo of the Field Roast Frankfurter package, with ingredients. Looks like this product will be in the stores for the summer.

Have a peaceful evening,

Wow, they look good! Field Roast does not use hexane-treated soy in any of their products, according to an article by Jack Norris RD. Here's a link to his article on soy:
Thanks for the info, Denise, and I will look for them at WF after work tonight!

I've been wondering about these. I've seen a few local stores carry them now, but vegan hot dogs have always made me uneasy. Of course, considering I had vegan crab meat yesterday, that comment makes no sense ;)
Thanks for sharing!

Have you tried these products?

Saturday, July 09, 2011

Hi Everyone:

Here are some products that I enjoy and/or hope to enjoy, so I thought I'd share them with all of you. Links to their websites are listed below.

Naturally Nutty Organic Cinnamon Vanilla Almond Butter - with flax, hemp and chia seed.

Naturally Nutty Organic Pepita Sun Seed Butter - with flax and hemp.

Organic Nectars Vanillagave organic vanilla dessert syrup - Madagascar, Mexican and Tahitian vanilla.

Kale krisps (cheezy) - dehydrated & raw

Trader Joe's Harvest Grains

Candle Cafe vegan Seitan Piccata with Lemon Caper Sauce

I enjoy Naturally Nutty products every once in awhile -- I LOVE vanilla and cinnamon A LOT and that's why I bought this - but, I think that both of these wonderful flavors together really overpower the almond butter.
I like it, but I don't love it.
Next time, I'll have to look for the "vanilla almond butter"
I haven't tried the Pepita Sun Seed Butter yet.

This is my 2nd container of the Organic Nectars vanillagave. I'd have to say that "I really like this product!" emoticon
One teaspoon has 20 calories. I enjoy it in my protein smoothies.
It also comes in "Chocagave raw cacao" & Chocagave bold roast".

The Kale Krisps are interesting. These aren't as crispy as I thought they'd be. They're not like "Popchips" - which, for me, is a good thing! emoticon
Since I love kale (especially lacinato), perhaps I'll try making some chips.
There are two other flavors of Kale Krisps listed on their website -- creamy garlic and maple coconut.
Did I mention that I love real maple syrup, too?

Trader Joe's Harvest grains are wonderful. It's a lovely blend of Israeli style couscous, orzo, baby garbanzo beans and red quinoa. I love the texture/taste and it only takes 15 minutes to prepare.

The Candle Cafe frozen dinner is something that's new to Whole Foods.
I bought it last night but haven't had it yet.
There were 3 other Candle Cafe entrees:
Macaroni & Vegan Cheese, Tofu Spinach Ravioli & Ginger Miso Stir-Fry.

On my trip to Whole Foods, I bought some Ciao Bella sorbet emoticon
Have you tried their sorbet??

Well, I'll close for now. I hope that this blog comes out okay, with all the photos and links!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Peace, love & happiness to you all,

p.s. Just wanted to mention that I have no affiliation with these companies.

Thank you Denise, it was interesting to see the products that you have available. Have not seen anything like those here. You can get plain nut butter, like cashew and almond, but I have not seen it with flax which would interest me. I have difficulty getting flax sometimes. I like the seeds as well as the flax meal, but they are difficult to find. The only place I have seen agave is on Amazon, maybe they do some of these products, but there is such a large list to look through! LOL! The dessert syrup really is appealing! I love couscous, but I hate quinoa! I have some to use up, but it tastes so bitter, its awful! If you have any tips for using it, please let me know! Thank you for sharing!
Love and hugs from Ellen

Thanks for the suggestions. It's always a bit of a leap to purchase something if you've never tried it or heard about it. I love to make my own Kale chips. They are yummy.

Vegan breakfast burrito with Daiya Pepperjack : )

Thursday, June 23, 2011

This recipe is from Kathy's "Healthy Happy Life" blog - another favorite food blogger of mine.

Her burrito looks absolutely delicious! Beautiful presentation too.

Note to self.... Take Daiya peperjack out of the freezer

Another great share. Denise! I love these nifty blogs you're finding. I always keep my Daiya in the freezer in a reclosable plastic container, and since they don't "pack" in the measuring cup or spoon as they do when thawed, I measure out a few more shreds when they're frozen. last night I tried Rising Moon "Primacotta"-filled stuffed shells, and sprinkled 2 TBS of Daiya Pepperjack on top before covering with foil and baking in the oven. That was the best meal! I'd forgotten how good this kind of Italian food can be, and it was vegan!

Thank you Denise! I like her recipes! This one sounds good. I have recently found a Cypriot Tahini without added salt and sugar for my houmous, so I could try that. How is your mum? Hope she is a bit better! emoticon Ellen

Beautiful Northern Cardinal

Thursday, May 12, 2011

I was looking out the window this morning with my precious guy, Mr. Yoster, when we spotted this beautiful cardinal. I've seen a number of males over the past months, but this is the first time that I spotted a female. Her beak was a gorgeous shade of orange.
I was happy that I was able to get my camera in time to snap a few photos of her.

I wish I knew more about birds. They're a beautiful gift to us.

Peace, Love & Happiness to you all,
