consistency

consistency is key. I want to get up the guts to post my fitness tracker on this page. =) I'll give myself a week to practice, then go for it next week.

    you can do it!! but start small!! I work out nearly everyday...BUT somedays its only a 10minute walk....where as others its an hour on the bike!! Good luck!!

The past week

Tuesday the 29th (DD) wound up being a 484 calorie day instead of a complete fast. Wednesday (UD) was pretty good as I kept it to 1500 calories, on the lower side of "normal" for me. Thursdsay I took a power bar (230 cals) with me to nibble, but waited as long as I could before I took the first bite...around 1pm. In the evening I had some veggies and a small bit of chicken. Friday it was so fun to eat everything! I went to work out with dad at the gym at 5:30, and breakfast wasn't until nine, so I was nibbling everything...then had breakfast. Yikes i was full! Then we had guest for lunch and bbq for dinner. Needless to say, I didn't really count calories that day, but it wouldn't have been pretty. :(
Saturday was a complete fast day. Only water. Because of Friday's extra, I felt good until mid-afternoon, when I completely slumped. I didn't go to a party I had intended to go to because I felt so sluggish and like going to bed. Sunday (today) has been good so far. Yogurt and fruit for breakfast.
I feel like alternate day eating can really become a good rhythm for me. After the eating days, I feel like taking a fasting break, and while I'm hungry and a little low energy on the DD, it's not unbearable. I wonder if you ever get used to DD with normal activity. I was lucky that my DD activities either were cancelled or changed so that I had a lot of down time those days. Do low calorie days get easier with practice? I'll have to see. I'm down 2 lbs from last week. :)
My sisters want to start the Master Cleanse lemonade diet tomorrow, so I'm thinking about doing that with them for the next 10 days, then going back to JUDDD after that.

    You are doing really super Dana.

I had a hard time doing the total water fast on the DD due to my anemia, so I continue to eat 500 calories on my DD and 1500 on UP. It's working for me. And I know that you ill find the right combo for you.

It's great that you are going into this with an open mind and with the comfort that you can tailor the program to your indiividual needs.

New month, New plan

Today I'm planning to fast to kick start my weight loss. I had done a 3.5 day water fast a few weeks ago, but I came off of it kind of hard. I wasn't prepared for how psychologically difficult it was going to be, both on and off the fast. I'm going to do only one day, then do an up day and down day type of thing. Off to do my strength training and running! :)

    Alternate day fasting is what got me interested in the Alternate Day Diet. I got a few blogs I can point you to. Will email them to you when I get home later toniight!
