Bodybugg Study - Measurement #3

Sunday, November 02, 2008

I had measurement #3 with Julie yesterday (November 1st), a couple weeks early this time. I am down 8 pounds and 4 inches since we met in July for a total of 15 pounds and 5.5 inches since I started using Bodybugg in April. I know it's not a lot, but I've been sick quite a few times and reinjured my back which kept me out of the gym a lot. I'm very excited about my losses since our last meeting though. I have PCOS which makes it extremely difficult to lose weight no matter what I do.

Honestly, I haven't been doing a good job of following my plan since late July, though. I've reevaluated my plan for Bodybugg and feel that it is pretty reasonable. I've decided to chunk my weightloss goals into smaller, more easily attainable pieces so I don't see that I still have to lose 57 more pounds - I have 17 pounds to lose then I will set another goal of 10-20 pounds at a time.

My next meeting with Julie will not be until mid-May. Hopefully I will be within 25 pounds of my ultimate goal by the time I meet up with her in May. This study continues until May 2010. I'm sure I'll meet my goal by then! emoticon

My personal training contract is up in about another month. Once those last sessions have been used, I'm thinking about taking up Zumba on a weekly basis to add a little more variety to my workouts. I watched a few minutes of a Zumba workout at my gym and after having gone to a real Zumba studio, it's just not the same! I'm looking forward to going back and trying it out again. It's so much fun.

I think it's great that you've kept on going despite hurting your back. some are looking for excuses and some are looking for a way to win anyway.
You are winning because you continue to do what it takes even when it's not easy. Give yourself credit for that!
Wow! Just realized you posted this over a year ago... blog much, Beth? Lol.

Great idea to break down your goals into smaller, more manageable chunks. It easy to get discouraged or overwhelmed by a far away finish line, so I'm a firm believer in that and think it really works. Keep on keepin' on!

Bodybugg Study - measurement #2

Friday, July 18, 2008

Last weekend (Sat. 7/12) was my second measurement session with Julie. The meeting was extremely awkward b/c Julie lives with my X-BIL now. Apparently my X-BIL and his wife are getting divorced. Julie assures me she wasn't the cause, but I honestly don't care since I never really got a chance to know either of them and I'm sure XH has told his family many lies about me. Come to find out, XH hasn't talked to his brother in about 3 years! We've been divorced for almost 2 years now. When I saw Julie's address and realized where she lived, I told her it would be awkward and I wasn't sure I wanted to meet her there. She assured me that Dave (X-BIL) would not be home so it was ok to come over. What do ya know? As I'm pulling in the driveway, Dave is walking in the front door with the boys. Nice. Fortunately, Dave stayed upstairs while I was there, so it wasn't as awkward as it could have been. I have some things I need to mail to XH and I so want to put a note in there being a b*tch telling him I'm sorry to hear that Dave and his wife are getting divorced and that the boys have grown so much, etc. You know, just to rub it in. That will get him wondering how I found that stuff out lol.

Ok, on to business. I hurt my back shortly after my first measurement session, so not much changed. I did drop 7 pounds since my last measurement (2 months), but as far as inches go, I only lost 1.5 inches. All in all, I can't complain because I did lose about 4-6 weeks of exercise during that time.

Measurement #3 will be in mid-November.

BodyBugg Study - measurement #1

I met Julie C. from Anytime Fitness last Saturday to have my first set of measurements taken. Nice and painless, plus I got paid pretty well for going! I'll meet her again in 2 months to have another set of measurements taken. I have to meet with her a total of 6 times over the next 2 years.

Nothing else to report about the BB. I bought the Wii Fit today and spend nearly 45 minutes using that. It's awesome! I highly recommend it if you have a Wii. It actually made me sweat! Oh, and I'm down 5 pounds, according to the Wii scale... I'm going to use that one exclusively from now on since I don't think the one at the gym is very accurate.

I am down 5 pounds from my original starting weight on SP, but I'm only down 3 pounds with BB. I added the feet extenders on the Wii Fit board which made my weight much more accurate!

Bodybugg week 1

Sunday, May 04, 2008

So I only lost .25 lb this week. I hoped for more because I really kicked up the workouts, but I ate out a couple times, and the restaurants did not have nutritional info available. I tried my best to estimate what I ate, but that obviously wasn't good enough!

I've been approved for a weight loss study with the Bodybugg based out of Hawaii. I'm waiting to find out when I go to the measurement center for the first time. Hopefully I'll get that info this week!

Oh keep posting. You are one of the people that got me interested enough in the Body Bugg that I ordered one. Hope it is delivered today.

Even 0.25lb is in the right direction!
