Well, once again the long weekend is coming to an end, and I feel like I now need a weekend, I am exhausted. I started cooking/cleaning this morning as soon as I got up EARLY.

Turkey, ham, dressing, carrots, brussel sprouts, scalloped potatoes, cranberry sauce (HOME MADE), sweet and sour meatballs and gravy ....... WHEW!

Hope you all had a good feast and lots of fun with friends and family too. It was all worth it, everyone ate too much (escept me, I behaved) and I even sent some leftovers home with the guests. Still enough to keep us eating for the entire week. Gotta love turkey leftovers I tell ya.

Holiday foods mean no cooking afterward.
Plenty of planned overs instead of leftovers.
Holidays are the opportunity to create long and lasting memories.
Glad you enjoyed!

HOORAY - Finally I am in the normal BMI range, started end of Jan/12 in the obese range

Sunday, October 07, 2012

I started off in the obese weight range when I first started to be serious about eating healthy, taking better care of myself and loosing weight. I can't believe in this short a time I have made it to the normal range (only by one lb. but I'm still there and I ain't ever going back) ..... from 226.4 lbs. down now to 158 lbs.

I find it amazing how much of a difference this loss has made to my daily life. I can walk further, I no longer have any pain in my knees or lower back. I am more confident and my clothes just look and feel better now I am down from size 1X to a 12 !!!

I WILL NOW CONTINUE TO STAY ON TRACK, this is a promise to myself I intend to keep. And, you can take that to bank.

Bloopers of children

Some bloopers of biblical proportions written by Sunday School students of both the Christian and Jewish persuasion:

In the first book of the bible, Guinessis, God got tired of creating the world, so he took the Sabbath off.

Adam & Eve were created from an apple tree.

Noah's wife was called Joan of Ark.

Noah built the ark, which the animals came on in pears.

Lot's wife was a pillar of salt by day, but a ball of fire by night.

The Jews were a proud people and throughout history they had trouble with unsympathetic Genitals.

Sampson was a strongman who let himself be led astray by a jezebel like Delilah.

Sampson slated the Philistines with the axe of apostles.

Moses led the Hebrews to the Red Sea, where they made unleavened bread, which is bread made without any ingredients.

The Egyptians were all drowned in the dessert.

Afterward, Moses went up on Mount Cyanide to get the Ten Amendments.

The first commandment was when Eve told Adam to eat the apple.

The Fifth Commandment is humor thy mother and father.

The Seventh Commandment is thou shalt not admit adultery.

Moses died before he ever reached the UK. Then, Joshua led the Hebrews in the Battle of Geritol.

The greatest miracle in the Bible is when Joshua told his son to stand still and he obeyed him.

David was a Hebrew king skilled at playing the liar. He fought with the Finkelsteins, a race of people who lived in the biblical times.

Solomon, one of David's sons, has 300 wives and 700 porcupines.

When Mary heard that she was the Mother of Jesus, she sang the Magna Carta.

When the three wise guys from the East Side arrived, they found Jesus and the manager.

Jesus was born because Mary had an emaculate contraption.

St. John, the Blacksmith, dumped water on his head.

Jesus enunciated the Golden Rule, which says to do one to others before they do one to you.

He also explained, "Man doth not live by sweat alone."

The people who followed the Lord were called the 12 decibels.

The epistles were the wives of the apostles.

One of the opossums was St. Matthew, who was by profession a taximan.

St. Paul cavorted to Christianity. He preached holy acrimony, which is another name for marriage.

A Christian should have only one wife. This is called monotony.

For all the Canadians out there, HAPPY THANKSGIVING --- Behave yourselves!

Wednesday, October 03, 2012

Well, this weekend is Thanksgiving in Canada, hoping it warms up a bit out there. It is 2 degrees right now, hard to believe it was 25 degrees last week (this is not farenheit, multiply number by 2 and add 30 for the american measurement of temperatures -- easiest way to get an approximate calculation - out by one or two degrees)

they are saying it may snow, yep, the big four letter word we all dread. we need Thanksgiving earlier than the US, we need something to cheer us up!

Anyway, hope the holiday is good to everyone ...... be careful what you eat or rather how much you eat and for the travellers over this upcoming long weekend, please take care on the roads, (they may be icy!!) ......... don't drink and drive! emoticon .... in ..... emoticon

This home alone stuff is FANTASTIC

Friday, September 28, 2012

Well, in 1/2 hour, my time alone will come to an end. I had a great time entertaining myself.

Cooked, read, sat around, watched T.V., danced alone in my living room (teehee), shopped, played with our 2 dogs and now it is coming to an end.

I will be picking up my granddaughter at her school bus, and the weekend will then begin.

I have loved the two days off of work, I did no housework ... the only cleaning thing was the dishes after making food. Won't have to cook all weekend now, so that will be a great break.

Have a great weekend everyone!
