Laundry, ironing, packing, so much to do for a vacation; I will need it after this !!

Thursday, August 23, 2012

Leaving early on Saturday morning for the West Coast (Canada) for 8 days.

All week I have been getting it all together, had sewing to do for items I wanna take, piles of laundry and ironing to sort thru and do, cooking dinners that can be frozen for the kids while I am away, and finally packing up my stuff .... so busy I wouldn't be surprised if I forget to pack something!

I am so excited even if it is a short time. I have friends there, my parents live there, so I have good places to stay. I have a blast every time I go out there.

Will be nice after working all this week. I was off work on a leave of absence for 6 weeks prior to returning to work on Monday, then immediately get holidays until Sept. 4th.

I know exactly what you mean about getting things done before vacation. We leave tomorrow for about 9 days as well. We are traveling to MD to see family and few friends. We will be back before holiday. So, busy busy busy!! Understand what you are saying for sure.

Husband and I vacationed on Canada's east coast last year. Bay of Fundy is AWESOME. Enjoy your trip.

Especially when they say things like, "You know sometimes I forget to eat."

Now I've forgotten my address, my mother's maiden name, and my car keys, but I have never forgotten to eat.

You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget to eat.

Thanks so much for the great ideas, any other suggestions appreciated ! ?

Sunday, August 19, 2012

You are the best, I got lots of replies to my last blog with ideas for entertaining my parents while they are staying with me!! For those who haven't been following, they are in their 80's.
Some great ideas provided.

They keep saying when I ask them what they would like to do "whatever you want to do is good" ...... GGRRRR !

They are a bit more 'awake' now they have had a rest from the drive, so that is nice. Today, we sat and talked, and talked and talked some more, now maybe we have run out of tongue energy, LOL.

We went to another small town close to us where my dad used to work before they moved away, and walked a small mall where my mom bought herself a dress. She was so excited perhaps I will take them to the big mall another day!

Not able to take them to the touristy kind of things, they lived here and saw it all then, so it would be the same old thing. I think if the weather stays nice, we will pack a picnic and head to the lakes.

Anyway, we will enjoy ourselves, I wanna take advantage of time with them while they are still around and well enough to keep up with my family and me!

Please keep the ideas coming though, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
