Thought I'd try posting my net/target calories for some added accountablity. Hmmm.... this could get pretty embarrassing on some of those high cal days. :$

Roller coaster continues.

Had a nice ride on a river boat w/another couple Sunday. Their anniversary is just 3 days before ours. It was nice. I ate responsively on the boat (it was a luncheon ride)

Before AND after the ride it was another story. :bang: Grrrr... Before hand, I had such tension in my right shoulder... going up my neck of course. Sometimes the act of chewing - esp. if satisfying a craving -- will help some. We stopped to get an ice tea (@ a gas station) -- and I asked hubby to get me a 3-Musketeer bar (hoping that would help, knowing I could still do okay if I ate it). So what does he do?! He brings me a two pack!!! I didn't even know they made those.

After the cruse -- I found myself eating my emotions away too. Grrrr.....

The other couple suggested maybe doing an Alaskan Cruise -- I didn't ask when, but I would LOVE to. Of course, I'd also like to pay cash and not have to charge much if any of it.

Well that could be good motivation to eat better (and at home) and to manage finances better. And of course, the thought of that is a bit stressful... so I ate. Grrr..... :bang:

Today is a new day.... and I am doing well so far. I would just love to do well for more than two days in a row. I WILL do better and I'm NOT giving up.

Anyway.... everyone have a great week.

I found the crock pot breakfast recipe at www.mrbreakfast.com. Here is the link to the recipe:
http://www.mrbreakfast.com/supe
rdisplay.asp?recipeid=775

The recipe turned out ok, but I used the newer crock pot that cooked it too much. I have an older crock pot that cooks a little slower and really seems to do a better job.

Hang in there. I react to stress the same way. Your cruise sounds really nice. I hope that you get to go on the Alaskan cruise. It sounds wonderful! We would be in better financial shape if we hadn't gone to Disney World a lot when our kids were young, but I am glad that we did. It is too late to take "kids" now since they are all grown up!

Oh, Dee, you have got to go on the Alaskan cruise! My daughter and I went in 2003, and we had the most wonderful time ever! Be sure to get a cabin with a balcony. When we were at sea, you could always find us on our balcony as there are all kinds of wildlife to see. It holds many fond memories for daughter and me...
Have a good night and a better tomorrow...Hugs Bess

An Alaskan Cruise would be awesome! We want to do that also. Both my DH and I think it would be so much fun. Ummm, when are you going? :)

I purchased one of those hand exercisers that you squeeze together. When I am feeling stressed, I grab it and SQUEEZE the bejibbers out of it. :) You will do better, and you are not a quitter! I know you will find a way to take control of the stress trigger. Have a great finish to a good day.

A meal at La Villetta (sp)

Wednesday, October 17, 2007

We are by ourselves on Tuesdays (daughter has a class that night), and our anniversary is Saturday... so hubby decided he wanted a nice quiet meal at someplace nice... lol

It didn't turn out to be all that quiet. Even though this is a place with a great atmosphere -- that doesn't exactly scream "come on in and bring the kids" lol -- right next to us was a table with a mom, dad, and THREE little ones - the youngest in a high chair and a bit noisy. LOL (Didn't bother me, but he was a little disappointed).

Then a laugh for those of you who live near water -- eat at place I don't usually eat. LOL -- I found something (more $$$ than I usually am willing to pay) that sounded good (and it was). I think it was called something like 'Zuppa De Pesche' It had salmon, tilapia, shrimp, scallops, and mussells over linguine with a diablo sauce. I knew I would like salmon, tilapia, and shrimp. I knew I didn't care much fro scallops (just wouldn't eat those), but I had never had mussells - and thought it would be fun to try them. Oh my! I had no idea they would still be in the shells!!!! That made it sooo much fun!

I ate all of the salmon and tilapia, one large shrimp, and some of the mussells along with some of the linguine. I took the rest home, but I doubt I'll eat it as left overs. I just hate leaving large portions on the plate at restaurants. Sometimes they make a big deal of it and it's just easier to take it home. It was a HUGE plate of food.

Anyway.... stayed in my calorie range (second day in a row I think) and got some exercise. All the excercise was cardio and I was hoping for some other exercise too, but since hubby wanted to go out - that took up too much of the night. I hope to get some tonight.

It'll be a challenge though. I just found out that he has someone coming over to help with the garage. Normally it would be no big deal, but with having had the grandbaby every weekend - I've really let the house go. I'd really like it to at least look halfway descent. :$

Well enough rambling.... everyone have a great day!

*I* ate tilapia on Tuesday night! Went out with niece and her boyfriend in San Francisco....(and ate a lot more than tilapia!) ```` BTW, that was LAST year's post for October 16. I haven't seen my surgeon since March when he finally released me. In fact tomorrow is the one year anniversary of my fifth surgery in less than a five month period. Hard to believe it has been a full year lready, since it seems like an eternity ago...But on the other hand, who'd have dreamed a year ago, I would feel this strong already!

Change of Seasons party

Sunday, October 14, 2007

Well, I ate too much -- and I guess too fast b/c my stomach really hurt -- lol (oh, well)

Had a great time. My grandson had a wonderful time!

There was a really friendly dog that he enjoyed petting, we walked up to where the horses were. One was loose and walked right up to us, so he got to pet a horse too. :)

He had fun climbing a huge 'moutain' of mulch, and had a blast o the hay rack. He loves tractors and it was pulled by one -- he had to take two rides on that.

He also enjoyed the music and those providing the music (singing +/or playing the guitar) loved the attention he gave them. :)

It was fun visiting with people I hadn't seen for a long time, but of course, mostly just fun watching my grandson have so much fun.

:)
Everyone have a great Sunday.

Saturday 10/13/07

Saturday, October 13, 2007

Just droppin' in for a minute.

It's 1:15 pm and I'm already past my daily calorie allotment. Grrr... :bang: And we're going to the Change of Seasns party (an outdoor event with a fire, hayrack, etc. w/several churches/congregations). So I'll just have to do my best to minimize the damages.

If the kids return to their house tonight, I should hopefully be able to get some extra exercise in tomorrow. Grandson and DIL are napping right now. I could probably go down and either get on the bike or pop in a video, but they'll probably be getting up prety soon. AND I'm just too lazy to think about getting sweaty and having to shower.

Anyway.... everyone have a great day!

I know what you mean about having to shower again. I am lucky and get my exercise in first thing in the morning most of the time. So, I don't have to spend the time to take an extra shower.

The Change of Seasons party sounds like fun. I hope that you had a good time! I am going to a Bridal Shower this afternoon, so I am eating a good lunch to avoid temptation.

Sending a hug your way. Looking at the whole picture, this just means a final goal may be a day or a week later, right? I am not logging today...today is just mine to be ME. Have a wonderful time tonight Dee.

Dee, enjoy your event - focus on the people and activities. It's OK to eat at fun times, just make it a taste, and then get right back to healthy choices the next meal. This is lifetime, not 'this time" remember. Try to find some active exercise that is fun for you. Dancing, biking, strolling. Whatever is fun, and not a burden. Do arm weights while watching TV - my plan today. :)

You have done so much, and accomplished so much. What is the reason you lost weight to begin? Not to put yourself in a box, but to live with greater health and ease of movement etc. Think of these, and do your best.

Hang in, I've been there. I'm there now too. We need to choose as best we can and live life.
Hugs and prayers,
Laurie
