Both incredible, Dee! Absolutely love them both - beats me how it didn't take you forever to knit that intricate pattern on the blanket - so involved and yet its done so perfectly! As for the dishcloth, no one in Australia seems to be into knitting dishcloths, the woman in the craft store I asked about knitting cotton to make dishcloths from looked at me wide eyed, and said 'but you BUY dishcloths, you don't MAKE them!' I am going to track down some cotton yarn on Thursday when I go to Ballarat (major regional city) with a friend who has to go see a cardiologist for all day tests - may just manage to get one or two knitted before the month is out - not that they will be anything near as artistic as yours. I'd be happy with a few with a striped border or something plain. Was planning on making some to be used as facecloths, to be put with some handmade (not by me!) soaps as gifts to store in case of needing an unexpected gift at any time....one day I'll get them done... just need that yarn first, lol.

Your pics bring back such memories.... of course,
I wasn't a "grown-up" then, fighting the drifts to get to work and such... wish I could get some of that free snow, but the shipping costs would probably be ginormous! Funny about snow...

When DD & SIL moved to Colorado last April, she was SOOOOOO looking forward to the first big snowfall. She was afraid it'd snow when they went to Puerto Rico over Christmas for SIL's family reunion - and sure enough, IT DID!

They got home today... and I bet I know
what SHE's doing! emoticon

He definitely has all of you sussed out. He seems very tame fro a wild bird. Just hope someone doesn't think he is a future dinner. He seems a lot leaner certainly than the domestic turkey but I guess that is because he has to forage more for his food. Thanks for posting. They are nice pictures.

The second and three pictures are of the GIANTS COLOR FOOTBALL TEAM that I had to make and crochet a football too

the first picture is the new pomp a doodle yarn .. easy and fast scarves

Member Comments About This Blog Post:

CHRISTURTLE 1/3/2011 9:22PM

Absolutely beautiful, Dee! Now I have finally seen what a Pomp-a-Doodle scarf looks like, and it was well worth the wait - they are gorgeous. I think we have a similar type of yarn here in Australia (alternating bobbles and finer threads0, but never saw it knitted up before. If it looks anything like your scarves, it will definitely be on my 'yarns I must buy' list.
As for your Giants baby blanket, your knitting is so fine and even - you do beautiful work, and anyone would be honoured to be presented with a Dee-knitted gift! If you check out the Sparkling Knitters' team icon in a little while, you will see your Giants blanket being displayed for the world to see! Thank you for allowing us to use it!

Dee, your snows remind me of when I lived in Wisconsin for over 11 years. It
was like this late fall through spring. I am glad that I am living there now. We
have had up to 7-8 inches of snow in my area all the month of December.
Today, was beautiful, sunny & warmer.
