Busy Busy Busy

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

I almost forgot to blog today. Where does the day go? I didn't get even 1/4 of what I wanted to do done. Ugh. I'm also starting to panic because I agreed to 2 back to back long term sub assignments that will take me right until the end of the school year (June 25 or somewhere around there). It's almost 6 weeks. I know I'm going to miss Dominic and I know my free time will be GONE!!!! I'm trying to get as much done as I can but this all starts on Friday....eeeek. It will be a huge help for my student loans and stuff over the summer. I never bothered to save anything to pay it for July, Aug and that's why I'm doing this. Also, I think it will give me an idea of what to expect if I get hired for a position in the fall. I've been soooo spoiled since Dominic was born. I worked afternoons for 4 years and then this year i only worked when I wanted to. Boooy am I in trouble. I have to say, though, I do get more done when I have less time to do it. So maybe it's a good thing to be going back full time.....huh?! Did I really just say that?????

OH - I forgot my goal is 10 minutes of "me" time each day. So far so good.

Student I loathe thee. I agree that the sub assignments will help out with your expectations for a full-time position in the fall. What grade do you want to teach?

Good luck with the two sub assignments and a potential position in the fall. I'm glad you were able to have some time after Dominic was born. That was probably quite important for you and your family.

I like your goal. Keep up your great work!

Pop's Birthday

Monday, May 12, 2008

Today Pop turned 101 today. We couldn't bring him a cake or anything because he's on a feeding tube. So we joked and told him his Ensure was birthday cake flavored. He's doing ok. His blood pressure is low but he was in good spirits and joking around with us.
I'm too tired to workout tonight. I feel very guilty but then I know one day is not going to matter. I may need you guys to kick me in the behind if one day turns to two days...etc. I'm sure it won't. I'm highly motivated to keep my 1 lb a week lost continuing. I can't believe I moved into Phase 3 this week. It doesn't seem possible that I've been involved with SP for over 10 weeks. WOW!

Sounds like you all made his birthday very special and I am sure it meant a lot to him. If he has a sense of humor then that is really good. They say laughter is the best medicine. No blog today I hope everything is alright for you today. Spark me if you need me. Love emoticon

I'm glad to hear that Pop is in such high spirits. I'm sure that seeing you on his birthday made it so special for him. And the big 101, that's so awesome! Sometimes our bodies just need a break, so don't worry about not working out last night. If you start slacking I'll kick your butt into gear ;-)

Congrats on moving into Phase 3. I couldn't believe how quickly the time went by here on Spark. Now I'm in Phase 4, just kind of hanging out. haha.
I'm definitely going to get the body composition measurement like you suggested. Hopefully I've lost a lot of fat in the process. Have a great day!

A Happy Belated Birthday to Pop! I'm glad that he's doing okay and spent his birthday in good spirits and joking with family. Don't worry about skipping a day of exercise. In fact, our bodies need a day of rest from time to time. Congratulations on your one-pound loss. Keep up your great work!

Testing......Ok, I'm working again...will post more tonight when my "angel" stops stoning me to watch Nemo on the back soon. emoticon
I'm baaack - It's been a really busy few days. Pop is back in ICU and between Mother's Day and long nights at the hospital we haven't had time for much else. I will say that Tom & Dominic did a lot to make me feel special - dinner last night, 2 walks as a family, an omelet this morning, a family trip to the zoo again, lunch and money to get my hair colored and styled. I was thrilled. He knows that family time is THE most important thing to me and he's really been trying hard to spend time with us together. With his traveling, I welcome any time we get together.

Nomi - I can't even remember what my original blogs were - I know one was because I was really upset with things that happened with Pop when he was sent to rehab and with my in-laws for making every decision so hard but that seems like a million years ago already and I actually said my peace to everyone - including the Dr at the rehab center (who was a JERK!!) because when I feel my loved ones (ie. Pop ) are being hurt - I'm like a mother BEAR! Which is weird because I'm usually very easy going and I don't like to rock the boat or ruffle should have seen Tom's face when I let the Dr. have it.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day and I hope you all know how special you are.

Down and out but back...

Thursday, May 08, 2008

Thanks for all the concern everyone. I did end up sick. I slept almost the whole day yesterday and ran a fever of 101. Needless to say, I didn't get any working out in nor did I eat much or drink much.
Today, I have some appetite back and I got all my water in. I even completed day 4 of the swimsuit challenge and I hope to get day 5 in tonight. I took a 2 mile walk this morning too. I think I had a slight fever most of the day but it's definitely gone now. I was way under my calories for the day so DH talked me into an ice cream cone at our favorite place. I got a kid size vanilla with rainbow sprinkle....yum!! I did get my freggies in too! I was really hoping for 2 pounds gone this week for the Mother's Day challenge in my Class of March 9-15 team. We'll see. Honestly, I really try not to let the scale rule my life, but it's so hard not too. I am learning that measurements and how I feel are just as important. Also, I tried on a pair of pants that I bought in January via website. When I got them I couldn't even zip them. Today, they fit snug but I could get away with wearing them. So, I know my fat is going down and my muscle is building up. Yeah!
Ok - off to the swimsuit challenge and all the other postings I have to do.

I'm glad that you're feeling a bit better. Good for you for choosing a smaller kid's size ice cream cone. Congratulations on your progress. I love it when clothes that used to be too tight start fitting better! Keep up your great work.

Congratulations on the pants fitting. I bought a pair of shorts 2 weeks ago and couldn't even wear them until yesterday. It's all great when you can fit into something new and smaller in size. Glad you are feeling better. You are doing emoticon emoticon

Swimsuit Bootcamp Day 3

Tuesday, May 06, 2008

Today's bootcamp was a great workout too. I love that I can get a good workout in in just a few minutes. I have to say that my legs are a little sore today. emoticon
I think my upper body will be tomorrow too. I'm feeling very tired and woozy tonight but I did get all my workouts in for the day. I'm hoping I don't get the stomach thing that Dominic and Tom had this week. What's up with all the stomach bugs. It's weird!
Thank you all for the prayers for Pop. They are working because the hospital staff are all amazed at his recovery and so are we! Thank you again. You are all awesome and I'm truly blessed to have met you all here on SP.
You girls are EACH an inspiration to me. emoticon emoticon emoticon
OK - I'm going to bed now. I'll post my totals for everything tomorrow.
G'nite all. emoticon

I'm glad that you're liking bootcamp as much as me. Every day has been fun, but challenging. I think I might be coming down with something too (not stomach related though). We just have to drink lots of water and have our fruits and veggies.
