Swimsuit Bootcamp Day 2

Monday, May 05, 2008

Day 2 was an awesome lower body workout but I think I have to increase my weight next time. I guess I must have really muscular legs under the layer of fat because nothing I do, lately, makes them sore. I am sooo glad that there are so many of my PMS teammates doing the challenge too. Let's go girls!!

On a side note, Pop is out of ICU and will be going to rehab by the end of the week - we hope.

I've posted a pic of Dominic's room so far. The vine and tree that I want to paint plus the animal stickers are not done yet. It's definitely not a baby room anymore emoticon but I'm doing ok with that emoticon

That's great. I thought about doing the bootcamp but already had a couple other challenges going. Glad you are enjoying it.

Best wishes for your Pop. We'll keep him in our prayers.

Weather getting better again.

Saturday, May 03, 2008

We've had lousy weather here for the last few days but I've been walking back and forth to the hospital (which is less than a mile from the house so how could I drive?) It would actually take me long to drive and park anyway. Pop has improved a lot. No one can believe it. We feel we've been given a miracle.
Tom came home last night and we all went for a walk this morning. I finally remembered to drink a glass of water when I wake up. I get my water in each day but I noticed one of the action steps is to drink it in the am when you get up. I want to check it off.
I also have to say, Thanks Ang, the new 30pt challenge for the whoppers/kissables challenge, made me pick 20 minutes of cardio each day. I've done it every day so far. I'm trying to make it a habit. Even if I put HGTV on or something and just do my stepper. Which is what I've been doing. I've decided Sundays are my "days off" but we usually get a family walk in anyway. So...all this paid off. I lost another pound!!!!
Have a great weekend everyone!!!

emoticonon losing another pound. I try not to weigh myself till Sunday. I probably would do better to weigh in on Friday because I fight through the weekend. But I took a sneak peak the other day and hadn't lost anything but I feel like I will. My challenge was to drink no sodas for the week. I have made it so far and it was a lot easier than I thought. But... Saturday isn't over and hubby has a 2 ltr. Pepsi on kitchen counter. It is calling me but I am ignoring it. Shut up Pepsi!! emoticon emoticon

May Day

Thursday, May 01, 2008

I can't believe April is over. I'm looking forward to better weather and being outside more again. This past week has been cold. I picked up Dominic's mattress set today and he's excited about getting the new bed soon. We'll be putting the bed together this weekend when Tom gets home. I put the curtains up and now I have to buy a couple of wall stickers - I really want a parrot and monkey. I also found a tree. They're so expensive though so I probably will got with 2 of the cheapest animals I can find and then paint a vine myself. I will post a picture when I get it done.
I a sadder note, I have to say, Pop is in ICU. He's just not getting better. Hopefully, the respirator and catheter will clear the fluid out of his lungs and he'll recover. In my heart I just pray he isn't suffering. He's gone almost 101 years without being on meds ( except antibiotics and stuff) and I really don't want to see him suffer now. Please say a prayer for him. Thanks so much.

I know! I can't believe the month is over either! Craziness at how fast it has been going!

If you want, I can make a quilt for your Pop. Just let me know.

Another Late Night.

Wednesday, April 30, 2008

It's 10:00 again and I'm going in to do my stepper in a couple of minutes. Dominic has always gone to bed late. I'm not a morning person plus my husband doesn't get home until 6 or later at night so I always wanted to make sure they were able to spend time together. I always wanted to make sure Dominic slept until 8 or 9 am. The past couple of days he's getting to bed a little later because Tom's away and I've kinda been letting him ease into bed. He seems to be more afraid when Tom's away. Last night, around 4 a.m. he ended up in our bed because he had a bad dream and sounded terrified. He went right back to sleep so I know he really was scared and not just fooling around. Maybe with Pop in the hospital, too, he's just out of sorts. Anyway, yes, Danielle, that's exactly what I did while I was waiting - all my other exercises and challenges and posts. I meant to put that in there. Nomi, he's 5 and it's also been this way right along. I think in the fall it will have to be different because his school will start at 8:00 am. So towards mid August we have to start adjusting bedtime....uh oh!
The only reason i'm even worried about getting the stepper in is because I made 20 mins of cardio my bonus challenge for the Team challenge and I want to make sure I get all my points for it. It is worth 90 point for all 3 days right and 90 for the 2nd 3 days - but only if we complete all three days right???
OK I'm done babbling about nothing!!!!

Good for you on doing your workout even if you have to wait till later. I can't do any exercise past about 8pm but then I go to bed at about 9:30. If I waited till 9:00 or so to workout one of two things would happen. 1. I would not be able to sleep for several hours, It tends to energize me or 2. It wouldn't get done. That is when I have my me time. You are probably right with dad out of town it could be part of the problem, kids are a lot more sensitive to their surroundings than people think. You are doing so great. emoticon

What can I say, great minds think alike ;-) I'm glad that you're finding time to get in your cardio, even if it is late. I remember I used to have trouble sleeping when my dad was away so I know how Dominic feels.
I hope you're having a wonderful first day of May!!
