Truly Afraid

Saturday, December 27, 2008

I'm truly afraid to weigh in tomorrow. I'm also truly afraid to post a "bathing suit" pic of me but I think I'm going to do it. I really need to hold myself accountable again. I'll blog more tomorrow when I see the holiday damage....

I know the feeling Debbe, I have not been doing so well this weekend. Hubby being home I end up just hanging out and doing nothing. I will weigh in tomorrow morning and as of Friday I had not gained but then came the weekend. We can do this together. I will be so glad to get back on my challenges they really help keep me straight. Oh, I guess BL will want new starting picture so I better get ready for that. I'll do it if you will? hehehe. Come on Girlfriend, let's do this thing!!! emoticon

I have seen those bathing suit pics. I think it takes a lot of guts to post those! I have pics of myself at the beach at 250#. I think I will wait till early this summer to have a pic taken to see the difference for myself. Will I post it? I don't know...

I am proud of you for holding yourself accountable. That is progress in the right direction!

Not as many cookies

Friday, December 19, 2008

Well, today I had 6 cookies instead of 12. I'm weaning myself! The ones I've been picking on were from my bff. I was supposed to share them with the boys but they didn't want any. I think Tom ate 1 or 2. I love them and I haven't had them in years because she had moved away. She finally moved back home after about 7 years. So...they're gone and now I can be good again.

It's 11:20 and I'm actually going to bed. Amazing...I haven't been in bed befor 12:30 in about 2 weeks....then I wonder why i'm so tired.

Have a great weekend.

At least those cookies are gone so you don't have to worry about them anymore. I find that if they're out of sight, they're out of mind so putting them on top of the fridge helps. Also...in the future you can regift them or bring them to share with others. That way you get to give a present and avoid those calories!

I'm glad you are making progress in cutting down on cookies! I had to bake a couple of times so far this week for various holiday functions and will have to do it again today. I have had fresh homemade cookies throughout this entire week. I am glad that I did not have not even one on Friday! emoticon

I'm glad your good friend has moved back after seven years. Now you just have to be careful of her yummy homemade goodies! emoticon

Ok - so I didn't end up cutting the curtains out....

Thursday, December 18, 2008

To all my girlfriends that I posted and said I was cutting curtains out tonight. I didn't end up doing it. What we did was buy 2 shower curtains...very pretty ones. They were $40 each. I have to cut one in half to make 2 window curtain panels. I chickened out at the last minute because I realized i haven't seen them with the paint and $80 is a lot of money to be out if they don't match the paint! Sooooo, I will be cutting them Saturday night, if they look ok. There should at least be 1 coat of paint up by then. If not, I will be cutting them Sunday.

Now, instead, I'm off to throw a load of laundry in the dryer so it's done before bed and I'll wrap the rest of our presents until the load is dry.

Oh and for the Girlfriend Challenge, I am supposed to blog about making or not making good choices. Well, I forgot about it today and I didn't think about it all day and guess what - I ate about 12 cookies...and then when the scale goes up I'll be like "why am I not losing weight" waa waa waa...what a dunce. I can't believe I did this today. Tomorrow, I am getting through the day without cookies if it kills me. How ironic that I say that, it's actually EATING them that can kill me, NOT AVOIDING them - that would be the healthy choice....duh.

Good night everyone! emoticon

Hey Girlfriend, Don't get all stressed over a few cookies. Get up tomorrow and try again. If you think you will forget it then write a note and put in the first place you go in the morning. Next to your bed, on mirror are places I use. I don't blame you I would chicken out too over 80 dollars for 2 shower curtains. Hope today was better for you!!! emoticon

No worries...I binged last night, too.

(So, take back the kudos to me about willpower...lol...b/c I don't have any, it seems...UGH)

I don't blame you as far as the curtains...$80 is a lot of money to me!!

Hey we all make mistakes and then we move on. You can do this!! Just fogive yourself for your bad choice and make a better one next time. I know that's easier said than done, but you can do it!!! *hugs*

Smart thinking on waiting to cut those curtains. It would be a lot of money down the drain if they don't match. I'm glad things are moving along for you!
Love!!

Almost Everything

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

Gifts are almost all bought.
Gifts are almost all wrapped.
Parties are almost all done.
Cookies are made.
and Christmas is almost here.

I feel like I'm in a good place right now. I'm waiting on a few gifts to arrive. I'll wrap them when they get here. I've been working out daily. I've been trying to stay good with food. Actually for the last 2 days, I've been good because the scale shot up over the weekend!

I have to get a pizza and make some goodies for the Dominic's class party on Thursday. I have to put a few things together Tuesday for a family get together at our house. (my brothers idea and he and his girlfriend will be staying with us so I know they'll help) I'm not feeling stressed.

Dominic is insanely excited. He just was out of school for 2 days with strep again. He's had it 4 times since Sept. He's on antibiotics for 20 days this time! Our Dr. says it's a national problem. It's so sad to watch them when they have fevers. I freak out. Anyway, you'd never know he had been sick. He's bouncing off the walls today!

So I'm ready to wind down and relax for a few days. We may have our bathroom painted over the weekend but then I need new shower curtain and curtains and towels.....uh oh, stress time. Deep breaths Deb, get the accessories and stuff after Christmas....right??!!

I hope everyone is doing well.

Can you come over to my house and wrap my gifts?

We were going to finish up Christmas shopping tonight, but hubby sick. Hopefully we can get some done this weekend and then get them wrapped!

Sorry to hear that Dominic has been sick! Hopefully taking the medication for 20 days will help him!

Now relax!!!

You're right, just take deep breaths. You have everything under control. This is the season for joy and laughter. Take a page out of Dominic's book and don't forget that!

Snow Day!

Friday, December 12, 2008

Dominic has his first snow day today! I think our Superintendent gives the teachers a pre-holiday present each year. We seem to always have a gratuitous snow day some time in December - every year. We really didn't get much snow. It's also stopped and the roads are already plowed. I wasn't working today anyway. I'm cleaning and baking to prepare for our annual holiday party tomorrow night. Dominic is still sleeping so I guess he needed the day off!

So my plans for today include but are not limited to -

get a 5 mile Leslie walk in (have to settle for 3 miles)
clean the entire house (parts are done)
wrap presents (done)
make soft italian cookies (done)
make brownies (done)
slice veggies
keep Dominic occupied (done)
drink my water (I've been having a really hard time with this) (got 11 glasses in today!)
make healthy food choices (also having a hard time with this) (not so good)

Have a fantastic day everyone!

We're having snow tomorrow, I think. Maybe I'll get a snow day...not likely. Wouldn't want to do that too early in my new job! Sounds like you did have a productive day!

This will be a special day for you and Dominic!

I can't wait until I have a child (or children) and when they have a snow day, I hope I can be at home to play with them and have a special bonding day.

Enjoy today!
