Fitbit,SparkPeople and My Fitness Pal

Saturday, July 13, 2013

I have been using the combination of these 3 for the past year now and it has helped me so much.

I use SparkPeople for "exercise and goal" challenges as I have not found any other place that has so many people encouraging eachother like everyone here. This is truly a tight knit little family.

I use fitbit to track my steps and miles walked. The numbers help me to know if I am pushing myself enough or if I need to step it up. So far since July 21, 2012 - Everyday since October, I have walked 145.24 miles, climbed 234 floors, taken 514,918 steps

I use My Fitness Pal to log my food as it seems to work better for me on my android phone. I had to many time outs with the SparkPeople app.

The main thing is that the combination of all of these is helping me to get fit. My blood work this last month was good my doctor said. My total cholesterol was 147. LDL-60, HDL-56. My triglycerides were 157- a little high he said but not real bad. Told me to eat more nuts, avacado etc.

So I want to thank all my Spark friends for the constant encouragement I get from you not only by postings or emails, but also by What YOU are doing yourself to get and stay fit.

Now if you all could send me some emoticon I would love it. It is so hot and dry in Texas!

Trying to come back

Saturday, April 20, 2013

As many of you know I have had a lot going on in my personal life in the last month. Things have finally settled down and I have started having a schedule again. I am tracking again.

The only difference is that I am not overwhelming myself this time. I have no internet at work and trying to track from my phone on sparks was not working. It was cutting off on my a lot. So I have just been using MyFitnessPal and linking that account, sparks and fitbit together so that I log in one place and it updates the other sites.

I am doing my treadmill, the 30 day shred and throwing some Chalene Extreme. I am not doing any long term challenges right now until I get fully back on track. If you all have just weekly challenges that I can join I would love it. One week at a time is good for me. emoticon

My cousin showed me this cool place to find music that is timed to your walking pace: walk.jog.fm/popular-workout-songs?pa

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and I want to thank all of you that have been encouraging me. I have wonderful friends here on SparksPeople.

Visualizing myself in 12 weeks

Monday, January 28, 2013

A. I see myself at least 8lbs thinner - hopefully 12.
How I am working toward accomplishing this is by:

1. Logging everything I eat into my tracker every single day.
2. Planning my meals ahead of time so that when I come home from work tired I am not having to figure out what I am going to cook that night. It also makes grocery shopping easier.
3. Exercising daily - either cardio, strength or yoga.
4. By participating in group challenges to keep me on track and motivated and help to motivate others toward their goals.

B. I see myself more confident in who I am and what I can do if I put my mind to it.
C. I see myself in a nice pair of Jeans with lots of bling on them. emoticon

This journey is not just for 12 weeks. It is a permanent lifestyle change. One that means I will be healthier, live longer, have more energy to do the things I want.

I will be doing a 5k a week by the end of this 12 weeks and I will continue to make that a part of my weekly routine.

I will continue to foster the friendships I have made on SparkPeople and my goal is to actually meet a few of my buddies that live or visit in my area.

Deb - the OLD Deb is BACK! You sound so motivated, I'm so proud of the way you've bounced back into the swing of things!

Can't wait to see where you're at in 12 weeks - I'm SURE you'll be where you want to be because I've seen you at your best when you're cookin' on all burners!

Hang in there girlfriend :)
