Reaching my Goals

Sunday, March 23, 2014

These were my goals starting Feb.23

1. I have an activity tracker and my goal is to reach 4000 steps 3 times a week right now.

2. Continue to read The Spark by finishing a chapter a week.

3. Use the food tracker twice a week.

4. Stay on the Turtle team and enter my weight each week.

These are my results March 23

1. This is the only goal I did not meet - one week I only walked 4000 steps 2 days instead of three days.

2. I finished reading The Spark.

3. I used the food tracker more than twice a week.

4. I recorded my weight every week on my turtle team.

I weighed 292.8 on 2/19 and I weighed 282.3 on 3/19 - I lost 10.5 lbs. Yipee!

Thanks for your support.

Here's a big CONGRATULATIONS on all of the successes that you have had thus far on your journey! You are proving that it can be done… You are on your way… emoticon Weight loss!
Keep up the good work and I know that you will succeed… You have encouraged me as I am reading your blog and I am going to live vicariously through you for this next week.I don't mean to be a copycat, but you have done so well and I am so "stuck" where I'm at on the scale.

Awesome Debbie! You gave yourself very doable goals. I, on the other hand, make goals for myself that are unattainable and always give up. You're a blessing to me! Thank you!

Setting Goals

Sunday, February 23, 2014

I got the book The Spark and it says we should set goals. So here are my first goals.

1. I have an activity tracker and my goal is to reach 4000 steps 3 times a week right now.

2. Continue to read The Spark by finishing a chapter a week.

3. Use the food tracker twice a week.

4. Stay on the Turtle team and enter my weight each week.

They seem small but I want to be able to do them. I will work on these goals for one month.

There are no small goals. Only goals we can achieve and then add to. You are doing great.

My foot, my foot, my foot.

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

My foot hurts. I have plantar fasciitis in both of my feet and my right foot is usually the bad one. My right foot is fine now but my left one is hurting. I have done my stretches for it and iced it but it won't settle down. I can't do my walking and I never thought I would say this - I miss it and it's only been one day. So this morning I rode the stationary bike - man that was a workout. I need to ride the bike more often. I went 1.86 miles and rode for 15 minutes. I will have to see if I can ride longer this afternoon. Hopefully my foot will settle down soon.

Hope you all are enjoying the Christmas season I sure am. I had egg nog this weekend and it was so good. Had sugar cookies too - yummy. Decided to go ahead and have treats so I won't binge because I feel deprived.

Merry Christmas everyone!

emoticon to U as I TOO have this painful condition! My right foot has been the worst and I also have ICED like there is no tomorrow ............. then I also either do massages on my feet myself or hubby does. I got custom made orthotics & I cant' say any miracle occurred ................. Strange as it may seem (live in cold country) I recently bought some thick wool type socks, (some hiking socks) not giving a single thought to the PF ............. But oddly I noticed the EXTRA cushion brought comfort to my poor hurting feeet! Who would have ever thought? ........... and it could be all the stretching, icing, massages, and good shoes (it is different for everyone I know) .................. THEN another funny thing happened .......... I was in Sports Authority & at the checkout I saw these little cushions for ball of foot inserts (only $5) and I thought why not? ................... I saw a difference there as well .............
But I also am doing stationary bike and non-wt. bearing and giving it time as I like the walks too ...................... lemme know .................. I do feel your pain ......... Jan

Ouch! I have PF too. It's no fun. I hope you heal quickly!

I refused to stop hiking and running. After a few minutes of walking my pain heel pain goes away but by 3 miles my feet are numb and tingly and I have to rest a few minutes.
I do the icing and stretching too but should do more.
I wear Ossur night splints. I got one from the foot doctor for over $ 200. grrrr. I found the same thing on Ebay for less than $50. I think they help.
I'm too cheap to go back for the $350 inserts the doc wants to try next. And I'm too chicken to get steroid injections. He also really pushed losing weight which, like you, I am working on.

Please let me know if you find things that work well.
Good luck!!!

I'm so sorry that both your feet hurt so much! Ouchie!! A good soak in a warm footbath might help with some epsom salts, like already has been said. Good luck Sweetie!!

Good for you for finding an alternative exercise!

I was having a ton of trouble with my feet recently and wound up buying some "Back on Track" socks (you can google their website). I was familiar with the product from the "dog world" and knew they had people products. They are pricey, but nothing else was working and it *hurt* so I broke down and bought a pair of socks. I used them in combination with everything else I was doing and it got significantly better. I don't know how much the socks had to do with it, but it is sooooo nice to not have to "step, ouch, step, ouch" out of bed each morning.
