2013 - here I come!

OK! I took my measurements (horror), snapped my before photo (hatred & self-loathing), went to a Vinyasa Level 1 yoga class (torture) and am now recording my nibbles via WW (starving). But on the up side, my eye is still on the prize today - day 3 LoL!!! I am seriously looking forward to my reunion with my healthy self in 2013. Hoping this is the year I manage to take it off and keep it off for good.

It's the holiday season!

Great to be back to SP after two years! New house, new grandbaby who is now 2 years old, finished school, found a new dog along with lots of new weight (thank you menopause). That's okay .... at least I'm here now and instead of kicking myself (once again) for the weight gain I am congratulating myself for deciding to take charge and do something about it.

My neighbor just came by with a plate full of cookies. Not going there!

    Hey stranger! I'm not sure if you will remember me or not, but I too lost sight and got off the SP wagon. I too managed to gain weight, but I also gained a new son-in-law and like you a new grand baby. Anyway, I guess I just thought I'd check in and say I'm blogging again and hoping to find support and success along the way. Good luck and hope to hear from you soon!

    Welcome back and freeze the cookies and just have maybe one a week or maybe every two weeks. That way you can just get out one and eat it after it is thawed

Biggest Loser at work

We're having a Biggest Loser competition at work & I'm on a team of 4 (me & three guys who will invariably lose a lot compared to me!) . We start this week with our first weigh in on 1/25 - it ends in mid-March.

This is going to be a tough challenge for me - I work a lot of hours & I have school every Friday night and all day Saturday for the next month so planning exercise and meals will be interesting. My problem is I'm always tired and always hungry. Trying to get my game on.

    We started the Biggest Loser at school also. There are 21 people and we already had our weigh-in...Wasn't to happy with the scale. Time to get serious...good luck

    Hi I am also doing a biggest loser challenge at work. We started 1/5/10, but we are not in teams. All the guys are lossing tons but are very aware they will plateau. So far I have lost about 4-5 lbs( we will see weigh in is tomorrow. We are not doinf an officail weekly weigh in, just in the end March 1. I am really trying to plan my meals and it has been working. Following 1400 calories until I go under 150 then I will drop down to 1200. WE CAN DO IT!

    You can do it....it's amazing how once you start...even with ten minutes of exercise, the rest follows. I like 10 minute workouts for when I am short on time : )

I went for a great 4 mile walk this morning with my friend Eleanor. It was 41 degrees here in Florida when we left and it was so invigorating. We stopped at Starbucks for non-fat cafe americano's with Splenda. It feels so good to be moving like that again. I need to remember this great feeling so I don't slip back into my old sedentary habits.

    Great job! I remember the morning well! I ran a 5k along the river and it was VERY brisk and windy.

So we both started our New Year in a BIG way!

    Great job walking 4 miles. It was a great morning for a walk.. I love the cold weather...Makes me want to walk/run faster and be outside. Have a wonderful NEW YEAR. You started it out on the right track..
