Well, I just hit the beginning of week three of the official diet. I have officially lost 5 lbs total since I weighed in, although I know I lost three or four pounds before we started our weight loss challenge at work. I have not had time to increase my exercise level much yet. I did spend one morning for about an hour doing kick boxing and a dance workout at home but that is the extent of my changes. I am still walking for about 45 minutes at a brisk pace every day that I am off work which I intend to continue. I plan to attempt to start running again once I have dropped another five or ten pounds.
Today I picked up a yoga mat kit that came with a resistance band and an exercise ball. Now I just have to actually use these items! The other exciting development is that I saw a posting for a walking buddy wanted in my area. We have now communicated through email and I am hoping this will work out, it would be much more fun to have someone to walk with every morning.
I have been taking advantage of my therapist, including hyponosis every other week. Initally I was hesitant to try the hypno as I didn't think it would actually work. However, when I tried it in order to deal with my PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) I found it was actually helping, even when I wasn't fully hypnotized. I had so much success with the hypnosis and cognitive behavioral therapy that I decided to try it. The results: almost no cravings for the foods I used to devour as comfort food such as ice cream, chocolate bars and any other sweets that happened to in my path.
