I hope i can get there in 2012.

I'm surprised that amoeba can live in heavily salted water, as is usually recommended. Thanks for the heads-up, though. We can easily use sterile water.

A positive Dr. visit...

Wednesday, December 14, 2011

Yeah... so my spirits are up a bit. I'm feeling better all the way around. I'm down 14 pounds in one month since I saw her last. she was pleased how my eyes are looking after being on the pills for MG. She put me back on my ibuprofen for my neck pain. It's helping already. that had me for a loop. We talked about the MG. Because of my CT scan and that my thymus is great the prognosis is good and that it appears to be only Ocular MG where it may only affect my eye lids and eyes. If this is the case I can deal with that.

Most of the weight loss is from being sick and in bed for a week. Now I've been given the go ahead to start exercising SLOWLY.

Leone was smiling up at me because I walked her for the first time in over a week this am. she was so ahppy to ahve me back. We did a short route. She did all of her business and we were back to the car. Oh how i wish i had a house with a yard. It has jsut been too darn cold for my lungs out there in the 20's.

Happy Holidays!

Hi DEBS, it is good that you are getting better and you now know your thymus gland is working.
I can just imagine Leone is looking up at you with a smile on her face. That is how I remember my Wendy Alice, we actually called her the laughing dog. She was always happy. Calcium...

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

As a lap band patient I depend a lot on Calcium supplements and foods with Calcium like Cottage Cheese, Cheese sticks, milk, yogurt, eggs. As an old fart Calcium helps my bones and muscles and joints. Over all it jsut makes me strong.
Well, for the past 7 days while on this antibiotic for the Pneumonia i ahve ahd to do without. Need i say the weight is coming off and that scale is really moving. Not voluntarily though. I have no appetite.
Places on my body where i have been told I have arthritis oh lets say 5 some years back are terribly painful right now.
I took my last antibiotic this morning so 24 hr's from that I will have some much needed EGGS and a glass of milk.

When I started taking the MG pills Pyridostigmine I stopped my ibuprofen which ahd helped my arthritis aches and pains. I wanted to experience wellness with just the MG pills. It didn't happen.

I forgot to mention the Centrum Silver chewable and Caltrate that has calcium and D in it. As having a lap band I have to rely on chewable vitamins.
I willa ddress all of this with my Dr. tomorrow afternoon. It can't come quick enough.

My calories have been too low as well as my protein. My protein shakes have calcium in it.

On the positive note Ashley took me to dinner last night and I ate heartily. A shrimp stir fry from Changs Mongolian style.

Have a blessed day!

Feeling a little better

Sunday, December 11, 2011

But weak as heck.
Walking Pneumonia sucks!
Funny i could get this thing because before I had my Cocklear implant last year i had a very important Pneumonia Vaccine. Now i ahve pneumonia. Or Walking Pneumonia.

I made one attempt to walk Leone in the icy cold 29 degrees early in the morning and my wheezing started in again. Asthma is brought on by the cold weather. Maybe I can move back to California where my lungs can survive winters???

2 days before I went to ER I had told Robert that I'm having trouble breathing when we walk the dogs morning and night. He said it's the weather and there si no wind. ice was everywhere.

I ahve always been a California Girl and i miss it so much.

2 more antibiotics left and i see my general Dr. on Wednesday. I am feeling better though and i thank all of you for your prayers.

Happy Dunday to all of you

I'm taking to my rocking chair and cover with the blankets...

It sounds like bacterial pneumonia, the vaccine is only for viral pneumonia. If you cover you mouth and your nose when you go outside, it will warm your breathing passages and help you breathe better. You can use a muffler, tie one over your face, or they have these fleece things that rest over your nose and cover your whole neck. They have an adjustable toggle, so you can tighten it. You can use face masks too, ordinary face masks could help. But they also have one specially designed for people whose asthma is brought on my the cold weather. Also, it may help to carry a little thermos of hot water. Sip some when you feel you can't breath. You should have Robert walk the dogs until the doctor says it's alright again. Have you considered training them to use indoor pads on the floor? You get this shallow box, and then put these disposable pads inside, or you could use newspaper. I really hope you feel better soon. If he hasn't given you one, be sure and get a rescue inhaler from your doctor, it could save your life!

So glad you are feeling a bit better Deb! Please stay inside and take care of yourself. Pneumonia of any sort is nothing to fool around with!

PS: Start juicing! It is the quickest way to build your immune system the natural way. I juiced carrots and spinich for a year and have not been sick in many years. Now I get the sniffles which is annoying.... but I'll take that over pneumonia or bronchitis any day!

Take care! Marg
