It is hard to believe April is almost over. I have reached my goal I set for myself for April of walking at least 2 miles a day, 4 times a week. The weight is still coming off slowly. I look on the bright side at least I am not gaining weight.

Sad Day

Saturday, April 11, 2009

Our Kitten was sick in January. They did blood work on her and found out she had FIV. We had to take her to the Vet to be put to sleep today. It was really hard but at least I know she won't be in any pain now.

I am so sorry to hear about you cat. I'm sure you know in your heart you did the right thing for her and she will know you loved her.

I recently had to put my beloved dog Holly to sleep, so I know how painful this must be for you.

Take care,

Deb I'm so sorry for your loss my thought's and prayers are with you. I found this poem I hope you like it.

Cat Heaven
The way to Cat Heaven is a field of sweet grass,
where crickets and butterflies play.
A cat may be late getting to Heaven...
there is so much fun on the way!
But an angel will wait at the yellow front door,
wait till a kitty comes home.
And when she arrives, he'll give her a kiss
and some milk in a bowl of her own.
There are trees in Cat Heaven, trees made just for cats,
trees growing so green and so high.
But, no one gets stuck in a tree anymore--
if a cat wants down she will fly!
And, oh all the toys, kitty toys everywhere,
thousands and thousands go by.
There are buttons and baubles and
small catnip afloat in the sky!
There are angels, of course, with soft angel laps,
where kitties can purr loud and strong.
The angels will rub kitties noses and ears,
and sing them a Cat Heaven song.
And when cats are hungry, there is God's kitchen counter
all covered with white kitty dishes,
full of tuna and salmon and mounds of sardines
and wonderful little pink fishes.
The cats in Cat Heaven are so loved and spoiled
God lets them all lie on his bed...
He walks in his garden with a good black book
and a kitty asleep on his head.
Then when a cat needs to, she may simply ponder
and watch the blue world deep and wide....
she will watch the old house where she once lived and wandered,
and the people who loved her inside.
All cats love Heaven, they know the way there,
they know where the angel cats fly.
They will turn past the stars and the moon and the sun.....
to curl up with God in the sky.

Sorry to hear about your loss Deb. I don't have pets anymore, but I know that it was hard when we did. Also, my neighbors pets have adopted me, and she has already lost one of the cats. That was really sad. The cat was an outdoor cat, and every night that I was at her house, the cat would wait outside for me, and walk me home. Then he would sleep on a chair that we had on our porch and meet me in the morning. He was more my cat then her's, LOL!

Ahh, the stories that we have about our furry friends.

Remember the great times that you had with the kitten, at least it is not in pain anymore!

Take care!

Deb~ emoticonI am so, so sorry!! My eyes are tearing up right now!! I think we often don't realize how much we truly love our pets until this happens. I thought I was so tough bringing my Moe kitty to the vet to have him put to sleep. He was my baby for 14 yrs. I knew it would be hard but I never realized until it happened just how hard it would be. I sobbed and swore I would never have another. Well, I now have two orange males (brothers) 9 months old...Cheddar and Colby, who are filling my life with joy again. I will never forget my Moe though. He was just the sweetest cat and like my child!
What a beautiful little kitten she was!! She was loved while you had her Deb and what a selfless act to take her out of her pain!! Again, I am so sorry!!! emoticon emoticon

Deb, I am so sorry. I understand how hard it is to put our Furbabies to sleep. My first one was only 4 when she got seriously ill. I slid to the ground in tears at the vets office and immediately went to my psychiatrist for an appointment and HE cried as I told him I held Mandy as she went to sleep.
Then, March 22 of 2008, I had to put my 12 year old Felischia to sleep and my parents fearing I'd have a meltdown, would not let me go while they put her to sleep. I still have nightmares about her.
I now have Sammy and he is just over two. I understand the pain you are experiencing and completely empathize. I am so so sorry. My heart and my prayers go out to you. Just remember your kitty is now in Kitty Heaven with my Mandy and Felischia, and they are running round in the sunshine on lush green grass chasing butterflies, having a great time because of the love we showed them.
Many Hugs, human and kitty ones!

Great Day

Saturday, March 28, 2009

This was a great day. Thanks to Dave Ramsey and The Total Money Makeover Book, using his baby steps we are now debt free. (except the house) that will come in step 6. When we started this 6 months ago, we figured it would be at least a year before we could say this. It was so fantastic taking that last envelope to the post office today!

WOO HOO! WAY TO GO! I'm SO PROUD of you and your hard work and determination and gazelle intensity and commitment to your program. YES YES YES

Are you imagining this? You've climbed the mountain while hearing the party music on the other side. We, who are debt free, have thrown ropes over the summit to try to let you catch on to them. We've been shouting encouragement. We've heard you slip and fall. We've heard you get banged up, bruised and just dadgum hurt when life pounced. We've prayed for you. We've kept hoping you'd make it.

Now you did.

Wow. Write this down on your calendar. You now have TWO Independence days - July 4 here in our United States, and also March 28. Every year you better remember the sacrifices you made. The blood sweat and tears you put into this. I so wish I could hug you!! I still have Saturday's LIVE Event stuck in my head where Dave is yelling "CHEEE-TAAAHHHH, RUN! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE" (I get goosebumps just remembering....)

Now you've run. Now you're FREE!
