My biggest healthy eating accomplishment

Saturday, March 14, 2009

My biggest healthy eating accomplishment is being able to plan and track my food BEFORE I go out to eat and then sticking to my plan.

You're so right! I went to the hospital for a family member, knowing that I would be there for a couple hours, I packed a meal. That was exciting to know I stuck to what I brought. It make you feel confident & happy. Thank you for sharing... emoticon

That's a huge accomplishment!!! . I am terrible at planning before I go out to eat....well, let's face it, I am terrible at planning anything. Very happy to hear that you are getting into not only the planning, but also the actual execution of eating what you planned when going out. Sometimes those restaurants are sooooo hard to deal with. Good thing I can't afford to go out often.

    Being able to say, STOP!
Identifying a binge and pushing away!
It's so hard to do sometimes...
...or....er... most of the time...
Maintaining the frame of mind so I don't fall into one is the best way to beat it...
I eat to escape sometimes...
Then feel bad after and then it compounds the feeling...
I work to stay centered with my higher power and it helps a lot.
MY higher power... that's the neat thing about it...
Nobody can tell me I'm right or wrong in how I look at it...
But staying centered is the trick!!!

Nice Weather

Friday, March 06, 2009

It is in the 60's here today. I walked my 2 miles outside today for the first time since last fall. It was wonderful being able to get outside to walk again.

New Month

Friday, February 27, 2009

Wow it is hard to believe tomorrow is the end of February already. Looking ahead at March, I am setting my goals to be walking 2 to 3 miles a day at least 4 days a week. I am going to also eat in my calorie range and get in my water everyday.

Like the "Nike" commercial says, "Just do it!" lol
I like your goals. They are very similar to mine, and taking one day at a time will help you achieve success.
Hugs, Kelley

    Those are good goals.

I'm still thinking about mine.

I am naturally lazy; laziness is my preferred state, and I don't have a Gazelle bone in my body. So I want goals that are do-able instead of unrealistic; but also some that stretch me. Yours are really good; I have to do more thinking about mine.

This has been a long stressful week for me. On the positive side of all of this is that for the first time, while dealing with a stressful situation I still ate in my calorie range every day. So looking back at my week, I know I have made progress.
