Rejoined Weight Watchers

Thursday, November 19, 2009

So I was totally off track for a few months there and my weight creeped up to 185.2. A friend of mine rejoined weight watchers and I since I love spend time with her, I joined up again too.

And I LOST 4 pounds in the first week!

I am now into my second week and will let you all know how it goes. My goal is to lose at least 10 pounds by Dec. 8 and another 3 - 5 by Christmas.

At our WW meeting we talked about making good choice and setting realistic goals over Christmas. In addition to Christmas, my husband and I are going to visit my inlaws over new years. So my goal is to maintain my weight from Dec. 23 - January 4. I will want to lose another 10 pounds by February 16 when I am going on a sunshine and beach vacation. I am so motivated to get back to my wedding weight by that vacation. So in total, I want to lose 20 - 25 pounds by mid-February.

Wish me luck!

Monthly Report

Friday, August 28, 2009

Okay, so this monthly report will not be as detailed as the last two - mainly due to the fact that I only tracked my calories about about...ohhh...2 days in August. Yep - that's it. So let's just suffice it to say that I GAINED 3 pounds this month - and let me just say that I'm glad it wasn't 7! At least I don't have to start ALL over again.

However, I am getting back on track and I started a 10K training program and already I feel motivated, challenged and re-energized by having a fitness goal. This will take my activity level up a notch and I hope it will accelerate my weight loss through September and October.

I am leaving on vacation tomorrow where my husband and I are going to conquer as many roller coasters as we can in 6 days. That will be a blast. My plan for the week is to ask the hotel to clear out our mini-bar so I can stock it with things for breakfast and brown-bag lunches to bring to the theme parks. This will help us to stay on budget and will cut out many, many calories. We do plan to go out for dinner almost every night and I will make efforts to order calorie-friendly meals, but I will probably give myself a little leeway since I'm on vacation and I don't want to feel deprived everytime I have to stare down a menu. I figure playing it safe on breakfast and lunch, I'll probably be okay - especially with all the walking and rollercoasters.

Also, we booked a hotel with a gym and a pool. I will work out or swim every morning before we head out to the rollercoasters :o). I made a pledge to myself that I will stick to my training schedule, which means running 6K three times while in Florida. I will report back to stay accountable. I will also be breaking my weigh-in once a month rule. I will weigh in when I get back from vacation to create a baseline for September's weightloss - also I wan't to be accountable for my performance on vacation. My goal is to maintain my current weight.

Sooooooooo off track!

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

I still haven't started tracking my food in August, and the one or two times I started, I totally went off track or ate way too much that day.

So I've already missed two of my monthly goals: tracking more, and having less days under 2000 calories. So today I have tracked my breakfast, lunch, morning snack and planned out my afternoon snack and my supper and I'm doing good IF I FOLLOW THE PLAN for the rest of today and coming in at around 1450 calories. I have also created a TO DO list for this evening so that my idle hands won't be reaching for more food. Wanna hear it - I bet you do.

-download Jillian Micheal's podcasts from iTunes
-go for a 5K jog (about 40 - 45 minutes of activity)
-have dinner (it already in the slow cooker)
-tidy kitchen
-fold laundry while watching tv
-put clothes away and tidy dresser
-clean two bathrooms
-check facebook/enter exercise on sparkpeople
-plan meals and snacks for tomorrow (must not gain back weight I lost last month)

If anyone has any encouraging comments, I could really use them right now :o)

You can do this, you go this. This is what helps me.. I have a sweet tooth and I snack when I'mbored. I take ALL sweets or anything tempting out of the house. I don't even buy them at all, I buy extra veggies and fruits, 100 cal packs and anything that is good to snack on. So I can have healthy meals and snacks. If you wnt help with snacks and all I can help you with meals or something. Not a problem. That usually helps with m e b eing hungry. That and I have to think what I had to eat and when I ate last. I h ave to tell myself I'mnot really hungry I'm snacky or bored hungry. You can do this you have t his. Long as you have the will, there's always a way. You just have to stick to it. Are you working out at home or a gym? There's tons of things you can do at home or using resistance bands, i love those. Just let meknow and I'll help if you want!! (be sure to message me b/c I don't know if you respond to this if I'll be notfied)

Fall Down, Go Boom

Friday, August 07, 2009

Crazy!!! So I played in a Ball Tournament for the August long weekend and it was totally fun. Because I was away with no internet, I couldn't track calories. Also, since I was staying with other people, I didn't always have control over food - plus there was the beer gardens - oh the alcohol. But I don't regret the weekend - there were some good choices, and some of holding myself back.

But since I've been back, I have had the toughest time getting back on track! There is temptation at every turn, and since I was away all weekend, planning my grocery list and all went out the window. Sigh. All excuses, I know. I need to make a plan and stick to it. I need to track my calories in and I need to exercise. Unfortunately, I am going away this weekend again and again there will be many landmines eating around family. I will get some water skiing in, and now I think about it, there is nothing stopping me from going for a jog on both Saturday and Sunday since my sister and brother-in-law sleep in on weekends. Okay, there's some control. Let's see if I can pull this trainwreak back on track.

Monthly Update! 5 pounds down!

Friday, July 31, 2009

As promised, I am updating monthly on my progress to stay accountable.

Weight Lost for July: 5 pounds for a total of 7 down! emoticon
# of days I tracked calories: 28/30
# of days I was between 1300-1600 calories: 18/30

And I've decided to track some other things too and July's number's will be my starting point:

# of days I ate over 2000 calories: 9/30 emoticon
Waist measurement: 35.5 inches
Hip measurement: 44.5

When I was looking at my montly report, I noticed that there were quite a few days when I went over my calories (12) however on quite a number of those days I wasn't just a few calories over (which I think I can still live a healthy lifestyle with), but I was WAY OVER.

I figure that when I get to my goal weight my maintainance calories will probably be somewhere from 1850 - 2000 calories per day. So if I want to make this a lifestyle I can live with, I really need to manage my "treats" in a way that is healthy but will also maintain my weight. So one of my goals for August is to see a reduction in the number of days I'm over 2000 calories. I'm hoping I can follow the rule to eat well 85 - 90% of the time. So really, I should try to get these down to either zero or maintain them to about 3-4 days per month.

I will give my next update the day I leave for vacation: August 31! Going to Orlando baby!
