Park Closed: No Cross Country Skiing...grrr!

Sunday, February 22, 2009

Had hoped to go back for more "punishment" today (lol!) but the darned course was "closed due to unsafe conditions" whatever that meant...there seemed to be enough snow around...was FRUSTRATED as I hope to get back for a little more before the season is over! Perhaps tomorrow...? (crossing fingers...)

So now at this late hour after running errands, seeing a movie, it's time to head up to the 'mill. This winter of too few cardio options is wearing on too, too long!

C'mon SPRING! My bicycle is getting itchy to hit the roads! :-)

Change Of Plans...

Thursday, February 19, 2009

We had planned to head out to MI to visit our son over an extended weekend, however...there is so much snow around we got skittish about braving the 12 hour journey each way and canceled the trip.

Instead, I'm STILL going to take the time off...but play HOOKEY and stick around home, taking care of little things, "coasting" a bit...hoping the weather gods will deliver a good cross country skiing day so I can head back for more punishment...lol!

Had a great treadmill session today, lots of hands-free...even doing some upper body stuff while walking...circling my arms, criss-crossing them, clapping them in front then swinging them back and clapping them behind me...kind of fun stuff to do when the treadmill program is going slower. Still using the treadmill programs which vary speed and incline during my longer sessions.

Keeping my cardio streak going...YEAH! :-)

Hope everyone's SPARKING out there!

Streak Shut Down...? Not So Fast There...!

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

Thx everyone for the well wishes...am bouncing back, simply REFUSE to allow my cardio streak to be broken just yet! Got on my 'mill last night and again this morning. Not pushing my luck with a lengthy session, just my minimum of 35 mins.

Not sure if / when anything will need to be done re: gall bladder...depends on how much it kicks up a fuss I suppose. One advantage to holding off on my hernia surgery is that I would think I could now get a TWO-fer deal: going under the knife for BOTH gall bladder removal and hernia repair. And as much as I cringe at the thought, perhaps toss in the removal of some of this excess flabby skin...? Not sure if I can *do* that yet...we'll see.

Keep on SPARKING out there everyone!

Streak May Be Shut Down... :-(

Monday, February 16, 2009

After wrapping up another "grand" session on my treadmill today I had some serious gall stone pain...may have to check it out and have my gall bladder removed. Will find out more from my doc tomorrow...not absolutely sure it's gall bladder just yet.

Update: After two bouts of what I believe were gallstones that knocked me down through the afternoon and night yesterday...today I am wiped out...we'll see if I can maintain my cardio streak by hopping on my 'mill tonight when I get home around 8:30. Saw my primary care doc and he agrees it's most likely gallstones, ran bloodwork, doing ultrasound tomorrow. If it is, there's not much to be done unless it starts kicking up a fuss more frequently. Wish me luck and more of that "perseverence" that gets me through those *grands!* :-)

    Your perseverance is admirable but 1000cal !! Isn't it a lot !!

No wonder you get a bit discouraged to do so!!

I hope there wont be anything serious about your gall stone, do keep us informed of what the doctor said.
