wrong direction!!!

Scale's going in the wrong direction...I seem to be losing inches still...gone from 12's and some 10's to 10's and some 8's. Wearing a pair of 8's right now. Yet the scale has gone up almost 7 pounds since my all time low. ?! I know muscle weighs more than fat. I know my arms are showing more definition. But I'm getting scared. My goal size is 6...am I going to weigh 189 pounds (or more) and be a size 6?! I can't imagine that I could...I had thought I'd be about 150 or 160 in a size 6. Sheesh.

    The scale can be deceiving--go with how your body feels. The number will adjust! You've come so far and made such great progress. Remember, it's a journey and not a destination, and that there will be curves in the road.

  I know how you feel. Happens to me all the time! Muscle takes up less room than fat does, so it looks leaner, but it can't weigh more. A pound is 16 oz whether it's fat or muscle.

Headed to NH for the weekend! Kind of scared to get on the scale after three days of no gym and eating on other people's schedule (after 7 PM) and what THEY serve! Gulp...will make the best choices I can with what I'm given...

That's it! I'm done. I'm officially THROUGH with winter!!! Yesterday I fell on the ice...jamming my wrist, elbow and shoulder, twisting my knee AND getting my iPhone wet! Fortunately, nothing (including the phone) appears to be broken. Just sore. Very sore.

But I'm so tired of it...the snow, the ice, the cold...the snow, the cold, more ice, and much more snow...and did I mention the cold?! I hate that I've become one of *THOSE* people...you know the ones. The ones who complain nonstop about the weather! I can't stand listening to them. And yet, I've become one!

I'm clinging to the knowledge that spring will, indeed, return. It always has. And I can tell you, it will be much more appreciated this year. I'm looking forward to mud! Bring it on!!!

Oh, and on the food/exercise front, all things are progressing...slow and steady.

And...thanks for letting me complain! ;)

    I am so right there too! HATE the winter!! I actually go into a bit of depression during the winter.
I am so sorry about your fall and thankful you are alright (and your phone).

    I'm right there with you, girl. I'm done with it! Luckily, it's starting to warm up here in Baltimore, MD. But because it's spring, the warmer days are usually the wettest. Makes hiking in the mountains a bit tricky. A few more weeks though and then we should have some beautiful outdoor sporting weather. LOVE IT!

Hope you feel better. That's no fun. Glad nothing is broken.

    Winter is my least favorite season, too. I'm ready for Spring. It has been beautiful here in Western North Carolina for the past 3 or 4 days but we know winter is not over yet. Keep up the Sparking and hopefully winter will be over soon. Have a good day. emoticon

Doing the bounce, watching the numbers

So adding snacks helped me lose 10 pounds in about 2 weeks...then a period and I bounce up 2 pounds. Been kicking it at the gym and I'm up a couple more. Clothes all fit. In fact, they might even be a bit looser. Am I kidding myself if I think it's me converting fat to muscle? I went from 182.2 at my lowest about a week and a half ago to 186 this morning. I'm trying to not make it all about the number on the scale. And to gauge things by how clothes fit. I've been lifting weights and I can actually see the difference in my arms. Could they weigh more now?!

I hate how nutty I can get over that damn number on the scale!

    I think you're right about water...been on vacation, so my routine has been disrupted. Not getting in as much water as I do when I'm working. Gotta work on that when I'm not at work!!!

    A lot of people have trouble with the stupid scale. I had a friend once that finally just threw it away because it was so damaging to her progress. You can take your measurements monthly to see progress that way, and how your clothes fit and your energy level are good indicators, too. Also, everyone has normal weight fluctuations - up some days and down others; especially women. I weigh nearly everyday so I can get a better feel of what my body is doing. For me, also, if I don't drink enough water one day, I'll see an increase on the scale the next. The body likes to hold on to water when it's not sure how much will be coming in. Keep the snacks - your metabolism will thank you.

I did TWO back to back cardio classes at the gym tonight! Kick & Sculpt, which I've been doing and I really like it. And another one called cardio sculpt & abs. My gosh, I almost left when I saw all the serious hard bodied people coming in for the class! I mean, yikes! But I was all set up, up front...and it would have been a big hassle/scene for me to leave. So I stuck it out. Would have won "Most Spastic", if they gave out prizes, for sure. But I did it. 120 minutes of cardio madness and tomorrow I may have to get help out of bed! BUT I DID IT!!!! I never dreamed I'd be able to live through 120 minutes of cardio!
