Nutrition Facts, please...

Found a great site that's helping me record all my foods I'm eating. Since I don't eat much prepackaged foods, I'm always struggling with how to record them. And some things, like tempeh, weren't in the sparkpeople nutrition section. I found this site and it's so helpful! Just thought I'd share it!

    That's how I stumbled onto this site, looking for the nutritional information of tempeh! (I added it, by the way.)

    When you can't find foods in the regular section of the nutrition tracker, you can often find them in the foods from other members. If you can't find it there, then looking elsewhere and putting it in yourself means it will be available for you and others. Thanks for posting a site to look up the data! emoticon

...we don't do much (hardly any) prepackaged foods. We eat a lot of soups and things that have a lot of ingredients. The only feature on the sparkpeople food journal that is difficult for me, is that I have to add every single ingredient, attempting to figure out how much of each vegetable is in there...and since my husband, excellent cook, never uses a recipe, the soups are never quite the same! Meaning the amounts of veggies, and what veggies he uses, are always changing. So it's not like I can add it in as a favorite recipe and keep clicking on it.

He does usually use the same basics. Maybe I'll just take the time to make up a recipe and favorite and use it for most of his soups. I would just like to push an easy button here...

Swimming PT went well...woke up feeling like I did some work in the pool! Makes me look forward to next month, when I change gyms!

    emoticon emoticon if i were you i would look up restraunt food closes to what he fixes under favorites . Soup like vegetable soup just put in 1 cup of can vegetable that should be close enough! Good luck on your weight loss journey ! emoticon emoticon

Hiking

So yesterday I didn't think I'd make it to the gym because my knee was hurting...but after church it was feeling so much better, I ended up hiking to the top of Table Rock! I went down super slowly, as going down hurts way more than going up...and iced it a lot when I got home. It was such a good hike! The views were awesome and I'm sure I burned a lot of calories! Next time, I take more than the cell phone camera!

Heading out for my first pool PT in a few minutes. Ugh. I'm very uncomfortable with the idea of being in a bathing suit in public!!! But it's a must.

First accumulation of snow today. I guess that dastardly white stuff was bound to make an appearance. Darryl's making soup for dinner...our favorite cold, snowy meal. Not sure what kind he's making...he has so many that are fantastic!

Ok...procrastinated as long as I can...time to head out in the cold to put my suit on and work my muscles...

We went to hear a fantastic Irish folk rock band last night. I fought off the desire to dance for most of the night, but alas, I caved in and danced...only about 4 songs, but during the night and so far this morning, I'm paying. I'm on ice right now. :(

I had planned to go to the gym today. Not sure that I'll make it. If it begins to feel better, I may go do upper body stuff. Or maybe not. It's okay to take a day. I have to keep reminding myself of that. A day of rest is not a bad thing...it's actually a good thing!

I have PT tomorrow. First day in the pool. Ugh. Bathing suit...in fluorescent lighting...in November. I can't think of a lovelier sight! I will do my best to avoid any possible reflection in mirrors/windows, or I'll likely stop going to PT!

Did I mention I'm half a pound away from my next mini goal...a half pound I can't seem to shed! A half pound that's holding tight. A half pound that doesn't want to give up! It will make it all the sweeter when I kick it's fatty a$$ off my body!

Okay...I've gotta get ready for church and get moving...the extra hour this morning has been glorious. Just leisurely enjoying the morning without rushing out the door. I like this! Of course, when it's dark at 5:00 PM, I won't be so happy...but I'll adjust!

So darn close...

I'm so close to my next mini goal...so close. And just when I think I'm going to get there, I'm sidelined with this darn knee AND my period! So I'm actually up almost 2 pounds! I know it's mostly water weight and will be gone in a couple of days, but sheesh, it sure makes it frustrating!

I had the cortisone shot on Tuesday. Tuesday night's sleep was awful! But I figured with all the moving, twisting, bending they had me do, it was to be expected. Wednesday night, with the help of Sleepy Time Extra tea and some over the counter sleep aids, I was able to sleep mostly through the night. A decent night's sleep. Last night, however, was not good! I was up from 1:00 AM until after 4:00 AM, which makes getting up at 6:20 quite painful! I used heat last night on my knee...no help. I folded a pillow under it. Nothing. Got up and walked around a bit. Helped a tiny bit. This morning - just a dull ache but it's super clicky, grindy, noisy. I know they said it could take up to 72 hours to see the effects of the shot...I'm really hoping it's just taking longer, and not that it's not going to work for me! I'm sick and tired of this! And you're likely sick and tired of hearing (reading) about it!

Better news...my car went in the shop last night and will be done on Saturday morning...good as new! Yay!

Taking 2 co-workers out for dinner tonight, for their birthdays. The place they chose is not terribly friendly to my food program, which means I'll be having a tossed salad for dinner. I'll make sure lunch is high in protein. Breakfast was 2 eggs and a cheese stick, so that was good and proteiny. I should be just fine.

Ok...I'm late for work now, I see...gotta run!
