Best time yet, but...

Yesterday I did the five miles in my best time yet (80 minutes), but perhaps I pushed just a little too hard...my left knee deeply ached all day long and into the night. Today it feels much better, but I think I'm going to listen to my body (there's a change) and give a day of rest today. Tomorrow I'll go back to 5 miles but not time myself. (I'm so damn competitive!) I'm trying very hard to be aware of what my body is telling me and not push it too hard too quickly. I'd hate to seriously injure myself and be sidelined for an extended time!

    I've done at least five miles a day, sometimes more (7 one day) and am thinking of taking tomorrow off...or maybe go tomorrow and take Sunday and Monday off...last 2 days before I start back to work...Or just Monday...I don't know...I know I'm taking at least one day off...just don't know when. My time has been slowing down a bit and I think it's because I may need a rest day.

So the Wry Neck only sidelined me for 2 days. It took a few more day to get back to 5 miles, but I'm there again...and only 6 more pounds to get to my first goal! Yes! Then the next one is a 17 pound goal. And from there, I'm just not sure....will reevaluate and see.

I'm on Day 10 of a 14 day regime...will get the next phase on the last day...am nervous/anxious/excited to see what's to come!

I have Wry Neck, also known as whip lash...wasn't in a car accident, didn't do any crazy dance moves...don't know HOW it happened...but it happened Saturday night and I woke up yesterday morning, unable to get out of bed without excruciating pain! Lost the entire day to pain meds and muscle relaxers. Am better today, but not as better as I'd like to be. Took my meds again and am getting fuzzy again...just wanted to check in and post my weight before losing consciousness again. This sugar-free kick is really working! I'm almost half way through my 2 weeks. Not disappointed!

Gotta go...screen's getting blurry and I'm a bit dizzy...time to sleep again. Hopefully the next time I post, I'll be MUCH better!

    Sorry to hear that you are in pain. I've had the same thing in the past so I know a little about what you are going through. Hang on - it just takes a little time. Alternating heat and cold and osteopathic manipulation helped me. Wishing you speedily well!

Plateau is over!!!

After two full days on the new sugar-free regime, my plateau is over! Down 1.6 pounds. Yes! Still have 12 more days on this phase of the regime. I have no idea what to expect after Day 14...my natural path friend said to just "enjoy the process" and she'd fill me in as we go along! Good thing I trust her, huh?! ;)

Five miles this morning...

Several times this summer I've walked 5 miles or more in a day...but never all at once. Usually 2 or 3 in the morning and 2 in the evening. Today, however, I did 5 miles in 82 minutes. Roughly a 16 minute mile. I wasn't unhappy with this time, since I didn't feel like I was really pushing myself. I wanted to take it easy, since it was my first 5 mile morning. It was really fine. I can push a little harder next time. And maybe try running a little? (I don't know...it's a pretty populated area...hate the idea of running in front of anyone.)

I am finishing up Day # 2 on this new sugar-free regime. Just plugged all my food in and found that I was under for calories, but okay for fats and protein. Will have to work harder at getting enough calories in. I know that can stall weight loss, too.
