I'm back. Was doing the GE 7 day detox/cleansing diet. It was super tough...but I'm on the last day and feel like I can get through it. I'm supposed to feel mentally alert, emotionally calm and SUPPOSED to be 7 - 10 pounds lighter by tomorrow morning. I'm down about three pounds, which in a week isn't bad, but certainly isn't anywhere near 7 - 10 pounds! (which is a much healthier amount to lose in a week, I know!)
Sciatica is completely fine now. Phew! Back to doing 3 mile walk in 45 minutes again. Even the "gushy" knee feels pretty good!
Gotta run...shower, laundry, shopping, errands...busy Monday!

After a second trip to the chiropractor and some new stretches and exercises to help strengthen the muscles around my sciatic nerve, I'm feeling much better. I did the exercises this morning, did three miles, then iced. Felt good enough after that to mow the yards and weed the gardens. Still feeling pretty good! :D
Going to a BBQ tonight and a birthday party tomorrow, so am cutting my caloric intake throughout both days to make up for that.

Back from the chiropractor...I self-diagnosed correctly. Sciatica. He adjusted me and suggested Bio-Freeze (cooling gel) to help with the ache of having things "put back"...the pharmacy didn't have that brand, so I got the Icy Hot kind. I do believe it's helping. I'm kind of surprised. I really didn't think it would work.
Anyway, I told him what I've been doing for exercise and he said to continue the walking but lay off the Wii Fit for a couple of days. I'm thinking of going for a nice, easy walk this evening, since I can't do the Wii...I don't know...maybe not. I know me...I'll get out there and listen to the music and there won't be anything nice or easy about it. Maybe I should just do some gardening instead. Yeah...that's my plan...

I took the weekend off, to let my leg heal. It felt great yesterday and this morning, so I walked...not as quickly as usual, sort of gently. I got about 1.5 miles in and it started to hurt off and on. Nothing terrible. Just a little bit. So I kept going. Then, when I was nearly finished, I ran into a friend and stopped for about 5 minutes to talk. When I started back up, I felt good again, so I went further than I had originally planned...of course that's my mistake! I did a hill. Going up was fine. Coming down the other side was when it really started hurting again.
The only good thing about it hurting at the end of my walk is that it made me come right in and call the chiropractor. I have a 4:40 appointment today. I'm hoping it will be a simple adjustment and I'll be on my way.
