Fabulous weekend...down a couple pounds to boot!

We had a reunion this past weekend, at a friend's huge cabin on a lake. About 50 people stayed the whole weekend and it was incredible! Cooking and cleaning for that many people was a real workout, not to mention all the fun-filled activities in between the cooking and cleaning!

There was a ton of delicious food there...most of it was healthy, believe it or not! And fortunately for me, most was also vegetarian! I did not keep a food diary over the weekend, as time really did not allow for it. But I did make good choices and found that I even ate less than I normally do. I'm down a couple of pounds this morning. I'm hoping it's more than water weight I've dropped! We'll see!

Anyway, coming off a great weekend and seeing the scale go in the direction I want it to go in has put me in a great mood...wonderful way to start the work week!

50 folks is a lot of commotion, glad you came through it with flying colors.

Seeing that scale go the RIGHT direction is so encouraging.

From winter right into summer?!

What a weekend!!!! Temperatures in the high 80's...I mean it snowed here on Thursday morning and was mid 70's Friday and 80's Saturday and Sunday. Supposed to be high 80's again today! (Guess we'll get to see how cool our classroom will be this year!)

With the return of warm weather came my determination to lose weight. I was out working, exercising, playing in the beautiful sunshine all weekend. Actually woke up a little sore today. It left me wanting to wake up a little sore (emphasis on "little") every morning. The good kind of sore!

After talking it over with my husband, we have decided to buy a Wii Fit. We played with my sister's a week ago and had a blast! It's cheaper than a gym membership and I don't have to leave home to do it! (Or get dressed, for that matter!) I think we'll get one around the end of the school year.

Speaking of school, I'm running late, as usual...off for another exciting week at work, I'm sure! (This time of year...now until the end of the school year...is difficult. They're pretty much "done" and we have to keep them engaged when that's the LAST thing they want to do.) I'm up for the challenge!

    i really do find the nice weather more motivating for working out, even if the workouts aren't outside! we also had a great weekend weather-wise and I wonder where all those "april showers" have gone!?

  I live in Mobile, Alabama --We took our grandson to Dauphin Island swimming on Saturday. It was a beautiful day!

I doesn't get really cold here.

    Although we didn't have snow here, we also went from cold to hot over night. We hit 94 degrees here on Saturday and I actually broke down and turned the AC on because it was so hard to sleep. What happened to Spring? I'm not ready for summer. There is still to much outside work to get done, although I admit, I loved seeing three days of sun in a row! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Is Spring REALLY on its way?!

With the return of warmer weather, the melting of most of the snow, my drive to get healthier also returned! Yesterday I walked all over town with Kate (daughter). It felt so good! I really hope the nicer weather stays. I don't mind the rain, which is in the forecast for the next few days. As long as the sidewalks are icy or snow-covered! I'm feeling good. I'm ready to shed my winter coat!

    Yeah, but true to upstate NY March weather, that warm spell is OVER! Snow and brutal cold are back. Today was miserable and tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same. Ugh. I'll be so glad when April gets here!

Took the weekend off...

...from tracking food in the food tracker thing...not from making the best choices I could. We ate out on Friday, but I ordered wisely. Saturday, another restaurant. Again, good choices. Yesterday I had a slice of garlic pizza...not the best, but hey...I had ONE slice...there were days when I'd have three or four!

Anyway, I'm back to tracking this morning. But I did forget to weigh in...I do it sans clothes, and since I have to leave for work in a few minutes, I'm NOT shedding my clothing now...it will wait until tomorrow morning.

I do have to run...but am feeling good...am down almost 4 pounds since February 1st...slow and steady wins the race...must remember that!

Right where I started all those years ago...

So here I am, 18 years later, exactly where I was all those years ago!

When my now nearly 20 year old daughter was approaching her second birthday I began my first serious and successful attempt to lose a significant amount of weight.

This morning I climbed on the scale and I weigh exactly what I weighed on my first weigh-in all those years ago.

Although I wish I was much lighter, I must remind myself that I'd reached almost 340 pounds over the years. I may be right where I was all those years ago, but I'm still much healthier and more fit than I was three years ago! And I'm on my way down again. With a much healthier attitude about how to make life changes instead of how to diet.

I'm an expert at losing weight. I'm an expert at gaining weight. I strive to become an expert at maintaining a healthy weight!

    It sounds like you have been on quite a health journey. I am glad you are recognizing your successes in the process, because this latest accomplishment is quite successful. Congrats for where you are right now.

    It's so great that you are much healthier than 3 years ago, and 3 years from now you can look back to today and think the same thing! :-) You are doing great. Slow and steady wins the race and this will be the time where you maintain that win as well. That scale is only going down from here!!
