Today is my mother's 61st birthday. Yup, she was born on St. Patrick's Day...that's why they named her Patricia!
We celebrated yesterday, at their house. Both siblings and their families came. It was nice. Devon had to work on campus, so he didn't make it.
My sister, who has had the gastric bypass surgery as well, nearly 6 years ago, has gained back some weight. It concerns me. She wasn't as heavy as I was when she had the surgery, but she got a lot thinner than I did after her surgery...now I'd guess she's my size. It makes me worry that I'll gain back a larger amount, since I lost a larger amount. I am fairly comfortable at this size (although, don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to be thinner) and I would be very upset if I gained any weight back!
I guess it's keeping me vigilant...but I really just want to be normal...someone concerned about proper health and nutrition and exercise, but not someone who has to obsess about every bite of food!
Anyway, it's getting late and I have to make breakfast. (Haven't been blogging my food lately, either...better start doing that!) Need to check what the temperature is going to be today, too!

I've been so busy lately that I've not been blogging as regularly as I once did. My down time has been used to read (The Other Boleyn Girl for my book club) or crochet, so I haven't been on the computer much.
I'm still not exercising beyond walking, which I have been doing more of, at least...the weather is beginning to finally get warmer, so it makes it more inviting to be outside. The dogs love to walk when it's nicer out. (Daisy doesn't mind inclement weather, but the little ones HATE it more than I do!)
I recovered my computer chair and an ottoman. I don't know what made me think I could do it...but I did. Of course, it looks like I did it, but it's better than it was before, I guess, so I'm still ahead of the game. It cost less than a new chair and it matches the room we painted.
Tomorrow is my mother's birthday, so we're all gathering today to celebrate. It should be fun. My little nieces will be there. They're so cute!
I've got to get some breakfast and get busy. More next time...whenever that is! ;~D

Friday! Phew! 'Nuff said!

What crazy weather we've had...we had another early dismissal yesterday...freezing rain/sleet/snow...second early dismissal Tuesday in a row! (However, last Wednesday we had a snow day...not so today.) We have flood watches in effect for the rest of the week. Yikes! March certainly came in like a lion in this area...I hope it goes out like a lamb, as the saying goes.
My principal pulled me out of the classroom yesterday to say he's having me go to a conference (on how to administer the Dibels exams) next Wednesday, which I'm pleased with (since I've been administering them). However, since he decided at this late date to send me, I'm not registered and they don't know I'm coming...I don't know how that will affect me...guess we'll wait and see. I have no details...don't know if we're on our own for lunch, lunch is provided (for those registered?), if there will be vegetarian choices, if we're carpooling, or even who's going!!! Guess I have some questions to ask, huh?
Well, my health issues have curbed my appetite, at least...I'm down a couple pounds without having worked at it. Although I must admit I'd rather stay the same weight and feel better...but if I have to feel less than great, at least the scale can go down a little, right?
I go back to the doctor on Monday for a recheck. I'm sure everything's okay...I just tend to be super sensitive to everything...if there's a side effect to be had, I end up with it! Lucky, huh?
Darryl just called and said he's taking a half day today...he's had two women out sick all week and had an extra sub in, so he decided to take a half day. (Since he goes in so early, a half day means getting out at 10:30!) He'll be home by the time I get home for lunch, which will be nice. I'd love to take a half day and play hookie with him...but I'd better not. Don't want the principal to think me irresponsible!
Daisy's insisting I pay attention to only her now...must obey.
