OK, so here's the thing. I have worn the same LL Bean jeans for, um, a lot of years now. I always have a hard time finding jeans that fit (what woman doesn't?) so when I find something, I stick with it. As I gained weight over the years, I would reluctantly buy the next size up.
So a year or so ago, my size 12 jeans were starting to wear out, and I needed some new ones. Ordered 2 pairs from LL Bean. They arrived. They (gasp) didn't fit! Same jeans as the worn out ones. Yikes! LL Bean must have changed manufacturers, or something, because the exact same jeans as the ones I had did not fit. So, I kept wearing the worn out ones (which I now will call Size 12 Large), and stuck the too small ones in the back of the closet. I was determined I was not going to buy size 14.
Fast forward to September this year, when I found SparkPeople. I lost a little weight. I thought, I don't want to spend money on new clothes, when I want to lose MORE weight. Look through the back of the closet. Find the Size 12 Small jeans in the back of the closet. Yahoo, they fit! Lose a little more weight. Discover I have some old Size 10 Large jeans buried even further back in the closet--I must have been feeling optomistic, because I'd kept them. They fit! Then they became too big.
I'm now wearing Size 10 Small jeans (as in my favorite LL Bean jeans, new size 10 that runs smaller than the old ones!). Some days, they are too tight. Some days, they are too loose. But everything else was too big, so I had to buy them. Soon, hopefully, I will have to buy more new clothes!
