Mid-week check-in

I've had a busy week so far - that's good but I'm not finding enough time to check in to SparkPeople over the last few days... but I'm still being very conscious of my habits and sticking to my plans as much as possible.

I'm looking forward to some quiet time at home to catch up on housework after being at my job a lot over the weekend.

I hope that everyone can find a little "me time" for themselves.

The Phone Call from my Future Self

My future self is very happy, fit, and enjoying her life very much. She has lost all of the weight that she wanted to and has kept it off! She has that joyful spring in her step. She still walks to work everyday and enjoys more social time and dancing than she used to.

The kids are growing up but are always an integral part of every day. She is so proud of them. She has been an excellent role model for them and they are all leading healthy, fulfilling lives.

The house is simple and neat, with little extra to cause chaos and clutter. Coming home is a rest in itself - a peaceful haven.

My future self takes time to call her friends and spend time outdoors gardening. She loves the fresh air and the quiet.

She tells me not to give up. Despite my own frustrations and my doubts right now, the future is very good - and I will be very happy with the results of all of my hard work and sacrifices.

She tells me she wishes she could send me a big hug over the phone - that she knows that I'm needing it right now.

I tell her "Thank you. I will keep going. I won't let you down."

Renewed Effort

I have to be honest with myself, I can make better choices and exercise more regularly than I have been. I need to reassess my meal planning and take more advantage of SparkPeople's meal ideas rather than just tracking my own food choices.

Shake it Up

I just love dancing to Latin rhythms, especially at home... that's why I like Zumba so much.

This week, I plan to do some zumba-ing several times. This should improve my results and improve my mood at the same time.

Low Ferritin, Low Energy?

I was told today that my ferritin is low. I suppose this might explain why I have low energy (that among other things).

I've been prescribed an iron supplement but in general my diet is NOT low in iron-rich foods. I regularly eat spinach, lean red meats, eggs, etc.

I will be taking the supplement for 90 days and the test will be repeated. We'll see how it goes.
